The moon was leaving quietly…
as if the night had never belonged to it. 🌙

Some goodbyes don’t need words.
They just disappear beyond the horizon,
leaving you staring at the place they once were.

Maybe that’s what makes them beautiful.

The last thing I have to worry about while doing astro nightscapes is " TRACKING THE SKY".

Move Shoot Move NOMAD is such an incredible and portable tool that has become permanent part of my imaging workflow.

From setting it up, to tracking. Takes only a minute or two.

A 15-minute long exposure produces an image showing the apparent motion of the 2026 Buck Moon across the night sky.

Path of a Full Moon🌕

A long exposure reveals the apparent motion of the Moon across Earth's sky, showing how much our natural satellite appears to track across the heavens over a short period of time.

The photograph combines the stillness of an old dead tree with the relentless motion of the Moon, creating a visual contrast between what appears permanent and what is constantly changing.

The glowing streak is the result of a single 15-minute exposure, allowing the Moon to naturally trail across the frame as the Earth rotated.

The exposure was carefully timed so that the Moon remained visible at the beginning of its path while recording its luminous motion through the twilight sky without over-exposing.

The silhouetted tree serves as a strong foreground anchor, with the Moon appearing to pass behind it, adding depth and a sense of scale.

Magic created using NiSi Australia & New Zealand
Stack of 2 ND filters, which gave me a shooting time of 15 minutes to expose for the MOON

🌕✨ **Look closely... that's not a rainbow—it's an Ice Halo.**

Captured tonight around the Moon, this stunning lunar halo formed as moonlight passed through millions of hexagonal ice crystals suspended high in the atmosphere. The crystals act like tiny prisms, bending the light into a perfect glowing ring.

These halos are more common during cold, high-altitude cirrus clouds, but seeing one this clear is always a treat.

Did you spot it tonight? Let us know where you were watching from! 🌙❄️
