At our lake at our magic lake…

Hard to believe it is the last day of winter! I love the feeling spring brings with it… the flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping…

In my experience, not many people love having their photo taken….

Dads in particular are often the most reluctant. So it always brings me so much joy when you can feel the mood shift and they forget that the camera is even there. It becomes about the people (and animals!) they are with and they are genuinely laughing and being present in the moment.

I love it when they leave and say “that was actually really fun”!

It’s a gift he might not think he wants… but I reckon he’ll love it anyway 🥰

I am in a constant debate with myself …

Studio or location? While I ADORE exploring the great outdoors, I still love the simplicity of the studio settling.

Especially for newborns and pets where there are enough uncontrollable elements already! It’s a safe, calm and temperature controlled environment with amazing lighting anytime of day!

Having said that, my morning was spent exploring Aratula, Moogerah, Mount Alford and surrounds and I am smitten!!

The internal debate continues…

I think I know the answer - but tell me your preference?!

I love full circle moments…

The catalyst for our move to this beautiful region was Mikaela and Josh’s wedding back in 2021 at Kooroomba Weddings & Restaurant

And just this week, while celebrating 14 years of HP and 1 year since getting the keys to the new studio - I have had the absolute privilege of seeing them again - with their brand new baby girl and 2 gorgeous puppies!

August is birthday month! 14 years ago I opened my first portrait studio (just a living room in a rented house in Bulimba!) - and one year ago today I got the keys to the beautiful Boonah studio! (and a LOT happened in between!)

I feel so lucky and grateful to still be doing what I love every day… thank YOU for the stories everyone… they have all formed a part of mine!

Something tells me our Phoebe girl will be as big as George in no time!I thought I would sneak them in for a quick shoot...

Something tells me our Phoebe girl will be as big as George in no time!

I thought I would sneak them in for a quick shoot before this happens…

… and half way through, cheeky chops came back from the skate park covered in dirt and wanted to “help” me with the squeaker 😂

He loves his puppies so much! Already can’t imagine our little family without Phoebe… just need to convince Charlie (the cat!) to join in next time too! 🤞😂

I remember living in Edinburgh and being awestruck every time I walked through town seeing a great big castle on a rock. It never got old - I would stop and look every day!

I feel the same way with the mountain ranges here in the Scenic Rim - particularly the view from Kooroomba Weddings & Restaurant . It honestly takes my breath away every time and I can’t ever imagine not stopping to look!

Excellent choice of venue Sarianne and Matthew! Truly spectacular even in the midday sun!

And I love where you chose to stay and get ready Helen Roebig as well! Just beautiful!!!

Hope you are continuing the celebrations all the way over in Helsinki … can’t wait to catch up when you return. Thank you for including me in your exceptional day xx
