Last Light at Loch Ard Gorge
Golden light breaking across the cliffs and sea stacks at Loch Ard Gorge on Victoria’s Great Ocean Road.
Captured in the early evening as the sun dropped toward the horizon, with strong coastal conditions, moving water and warm light cutting across the limestone. Revisiting this 2018 image with a completely new edit has allowed me to bring out much more of the atmosphere, depth and detail I remember from the scene.

Silent Passage
London Bridge, Great Ocean Road, Victoria.
Captured in 2018 and recently revisited as a fine-art black and white edit. I wanted to strip the scene back to its simplest elements — rock, water, light and space — allowing London Bridge to sit quietly against the Southern Ocean.
A very different interpretation of an image I first photographed eight years ago.

Evening Tide at Bay of Islands
Continuing my revisit through photographs from the 2018 Great Ocean Road trip, this frame comes from the dramatic coastline around the Bay of Islands, Victoria.
I’ve gone back to the original RAW file and reworked the image with a much more refined approach — improving the tonal balance, bringing greater separation to the sea stacks, controlling the foreground and retaining the soft, overcast atmosphere of the evening.
One of the things I enjoy most about revisiting older work is seeing how both your editing style and your interpretation of a scene change over time.

First Light at Jan Juc
A quiet start to the morning along the Victorian coast at Jan Juc.
Soft colour was beginning to build above the horizon while the first light worked its way across the ocean. The breaking swell created a natural line through the frame towards the weathered rock formation below — a scene I’ve recently revisited and re-edited from my 2018 archives.
I’ve kept this new edit restrained, allowing the pastel dawn light, texture of the rock and movement of the sea to carry the image.

Remnants of Clifton Springs

A revisit and re-edit from 2018

Captured before sunrise at Clifton Springs, these weathered pylons stood quietly in the bay as the first light began to move through soft pink and peach tones.

The 64-second exposure smoothed the water and simplified the scene, leaving the old timber structures as the main focus.

For the re-edit, I wanted to keep that calm, minimal feel while bringing a little more detail back into the pylons and refining the balance between the warm sky and cool water.

Eagle Rock at Dawn
A revisit and re-edit from 2018.
There’s something about returning to older files with fresh eyes. This long exposure was captured just after 6am, with the first light washing the coast in soft pink and warm orange while the ocean moved around Eagle Rock.
For the re-edit, I wanted to keep the quiet atmosphere of the original capture while refining the tonal balance, bringing more detail into the rock formation and keeping the surrounding water soft and understated.

**Sentinels of Eurobodalla**

A revisit and re-edit from **2019**.

Captured on the Eurobodalla coast as the last light moved through warm orange, pink and violet tones, with the sea wrapping around these rugged rock formations.

Coming back to older work with a fresh eye is always interesting — keeping the character of the original capture while refining the tonal balance, detail and overall finish.
