Zimbabwe sits on vast reserves of lithium a key ingredient for renewable energy yet most households remain in the dark. With only 34% connected to the national grid, solar should not be a luxury. Energy justice means ensuring every Zimbabwean can afford and access clean, renewable power.

An ailing cow lies on land in Binga, Matabeleland North a place that was once part of the mighty Zambezi River. Over the years, the receding water levels have exposed more shoreline, a stark reminder of the impact of climate change on both nature and livelihoods.

In many Zimbabwean rural communities, women still walk long distances to collect firewood their only source of cooking energy. This daily struggle not only places a heavy burden on women and girls but also drives deforestation, health risks from smoke, and rising climate impacts. Access to clean, renewable energy is not just about convenience it is about gender equality, environmental protection, and climate justice.

Today, on the International Day of the African Child, we are reminded that education is not just a right, it is a pathway to freedom, dignity, and opportunity.

Too many African children still face barriers to quality education due to poverty, conflict, and inequality. As communicators and media professionals, we have a responsibility to amplify stories that highlight the power of education to transform lives and break cycles of poverty.

πŸŽ™οΈ The media must do more than report, it must inspire.

An educated child is an empowered child. And empowered children are the future architects of a better Africa. πŸŒπŸ“š

Inclusion is not just about being seen; it’s about feeling valued. When underrepresented groups see their stories shared, it challenges stereotypes and helps create a more understanding environment.

Representation matters because it helps us understand the world and shapes the stories we tell. When we include diverse voices, everyone benefits from a wider range of experiences and ideas.

For those being represented, seeing themselves in
different roles--like in movies, jobs, or everyday life-
boosts their confidence and shows them they matter. It gives them a sense of belonging and encourages future generations to chase their dreams.!

πŸ’§πŸŒOn this World Water Day, we reflect on the critical importance of water access and sanitation, recognised by the United Nations as fundamental human rights. The availability of clean water and adequate sanitation is essential not only for health and well-being but also for the realisation of various other rights, including the right to life, health, and education.

Despite these recognitions, billions of individuals worldwide still lack access to safe drinking water and sanitation facilities. This disparity underscores the urgent need for comprehensive policies and collaborative efforts to address these challenges.
