The joys of farm life . . . Treatments like these can be quite gross, but necessary.

Today we lanced and drained a localized abscess on a cow's abdomen.

These abscesses can form from bacteria entering a tiny wound. Close monitoring and treating the area will result in healing.

Gosh, I am so excited on just how Fifi has healed up in just over a month. The incident happened 12th June, and it's now 23rd July. A couple of scars and a patch or 2 where the fur is yet to grow back.

A huge thank you to Dr Nyanhongo and his team for their work on Fifi and for putting up with frantic messages from this worried furmommy. It was hard as we live so far away, so I couldn't just drop in and shout help!

So . . . It's been a while since I posted anything of Fifi here. It's been a tough couple of weeks. Fifi was attacked by 3 dogs bigger than her. The details aren't necessary. It didn't happen on the farm.

She's a tough little pooch and although has still got a way to go to be completely healed, she's come a long way.

The first video is her now, the photo is the day it happened and the second video is the day after.

She has moments when she finds a hole to hide in but other times she's back to herself and still loving her screen time.

A big thank you to Dr. Nyanhongo (hope the spelling is correct), for stitching her up and putting up with my many concerned messages.
