No roads? No problem. No clue? Even better.
Just shamwaris, sheer grit, and a storm of storytelling in our wake.
📅 August 30, 2024. Enter Richie Watson—cinematic sniper, professional dust-eater, and the kind of oke who doesn’t flinch at 50km on foot (as long as he’s behind the lens).
Ping! A message;
📝 “Hey Jessie, Richard Watson here. I have a friend starting a run up in the falls in the next couple of days who I believe has messaged you? Are you guys around?”
The friend? A mad unit named
The mission? Returning to Roots—an ultramarathon feat through Zimbabwe’s most uncooperative terrain.
The vibe? Mildly deranged. Entirely legendary.

Inspired by the playgrounds of our childhood, peppered with the don’t worry we’ll make a plan attitude and a humble hark back to junior school days when life looked simpler and the pinkies only cost 500 dollars at the tuck shop.

But sometimes, on rare occasions our stripes stumble across some sort of magic, swipe to see some BTS of a highly contested soccer match at the dump with the ele collection crew and a few friends. ⚽️🐘

Beginning way back when, with a mini documentary, rolling like old-school 8mm film—grainy, unpolished, but full of promise. A few sketchy models were provided, ahem we’ll leave it at that hey boys, but luckily the close ups and negatives weren’t too shabby. 🎥🔥

Fast forward, and here we are, fully immersed in telling the tale— curating salty content, documenting milestones migrating into dreams and proving that different herds can coexist in symbiosis.
