To our Bemba brethren, we extend our profound and heartfelt condolences on the passing of your revered traditional leader, His Royal Highness Imfumu Tungati of the Isansa Bemba Kingdom in Luwingu District, Northern Province.
During the mourning of our own illustrious Paramount Chief Mpezeni, certain unfortunate conduct was exhibited by some among the Bemba community. While we have chosen the path of forgiveness, we have not consigned those events to oblivion.
In the spirit of unity, mutual respect, and cultural coexistence, we humbly appeal to all concerned to allow the solemn mourning rites and powdering traditions to proceed with dignity, tranquillity and decorum, just as they were accorded during our bereavement last week.
May wisdom, restraint and solidarity prevail during this period of grief.
