Finishing off the series with “Shakes” these last few frames are a testament of the magic that unfolded with no preparation of any sort and how the shoot came to fruition as we’ve been longing to shoot for the longest time ever…

We thoroughly had fun on the day of the shoot where we also got to see some of his well treasured art pieces and his impeccable works of photography which was beautifully framed as well, it was so inspiring and left filled with so much contentment and aspiration to produce even better works.

A huge thank you to / for hosting us on this day and being such a great sport, until again…

He’s a prominent figure within the central parts of Cape Town where he has established himself as a film director, events curator, disc jocker and a creative in every sense of the word to mention a few of his talents and traits…

Did I not mention he’s a model as well? Indeed he is, with that being so the items he’s wearing were not endorsed by any of the below mentioned allocated brands but he however has been featured on some of their recent works.

An impromptu shoot we did with better known as “Shakes” who happens to be a fellow film photographer amongst other forms of creative explorations, whom also welcomed us to his humble abode which felt rather homely.

On this day “Shakes” was kind enough to actually let us use one of his well sort after film cameras which was nothing short of amazing to shoot with, it was an honour coming from such a vastly talented individual.

The concept for the shoot was to capture the essence of being in the comfort of his own home and wearing items from his favourite brands which signifies and encapsulates the idea of being a home-body whilst looking and feeling fly in your own space of comfort.

“Connecting through diaparo”

This installment is the last of a 3 part look book series titled “Spaza Shop Boys”

This series is a concept developed and honed by .za which serves as an ode to the upbringing of a child growing up in the township, focusing on the narrative which whom (the child) would use the Spaza Shop as an outlet to hangout.

The term “Spaza Shop” in a South African dialect is often used in the eastern and west coastal regions of South Africa which in translation simply means a small shop that an individual/family member would operate from a setting of their home that serves a huge part in the township community where people would purchase goods and essentials such as food, drinks, etc. eliminating the factor of having to commute long distances, these Spaza shops can be found all over the country in any designated area located in the township.
