I came to Johannesburg for a wedding.
The mini sessions weren't part of the plan.
But a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, so I posted a little mini session special... and within 2 days, 15 sessions were booked. π₯Ήπ€
And honestly, I've been sitting with that all weekend.
Because after almost 10 years of building Shavaune Photography, you'd think the doubts disappear.
They don't. The world changes. The industry changes. Photography changes. And if I'm being honest, there are still moments where I wonder what the next 10 years will look like.
But this weekend brought me so much peace. It reminded me that after all these years, people still remember Shavaune Photography. People still trust me with their memories. And that is something I will never take for granted. I think sometimes people see the photos and the final galleries, but behind the scenes it's one girl wearing all the hats β doing the marketing, admin, invoicing, editing, social media, emails and photography, while somehow still trying to find a little balance in between. So when weekends like this happen, they mean more than I can put into words. This weekend reminded me that I don't need to have all the answers. What I do know is that for almost a decade, I've had the privilege of capturing people's stories, and somehow those same people continue to support mine.
The families who remembered me.
The clients who came back.
The new faces who trusted me.
Thank you.
Not because you filled my calendar.
But because you reminded me that what I've spent years building matters.
That showing up consistently matters. That hard work matters. That serving people well matters. That caring deeply about your clients matters. Almost 10 years ago, I picked up a camera and started building a dream. A dream that would one day pay my bills, my mortgage, put food on my table, and allow me to do what I love every single day.
I don't take that for granted. To every person who has ever booked me, referred me, shared my work, encouraged me, or trusted me with a piece of their storyβthank you.
And thank You, Jesus.
For every season. For every client. For every reminder that You've always been faithful.
My heart is incredibly full. π€
Love, Shavaune Photography π·
