Expectation vs. reality when you ask siblings to “just cuddle nicely” 😂

Expectation: 🥰✨
Reality: chaos, wrestling, giggles & someone definitely getting squashed.

And honestly? I’ll take reality every single time. 🤍

Because these are the moments I want to capture - the real ones. The silly, messy, completely unposed bits of childhood that you’ll actually remember.

After photographing a lot of weddings over the last 15 years, there are a few things I wish every couple knew before their wedding day. 🤍

1. Leave breathing room in your timeline.
Some of the best photographs happen in the moments where you're not rushing to the next thing.

2. Don't spend your whole day worrying about the camera.
I'll guide you when you need it and disappear into the background when you don't.

3. Let yourself actually enjoy your wedding.
The laughing, crying, dancing, chaos and tiny in-between moments are the things you'll want to remember.

Your wedding day only happens once. Let’s make sure you get to remember how it felt. 🤍

Happy National Dog Day 🐾🤍

As a dog mom of four, I feel very strongly about this:

Dogs are ALWAYS welcome at your shoot. 😂

Family session? Bring the dog.
Couples shoot? Bring the dog.
Maternity session? Yep, bring the dog.
Engagement session? Obviously bring the dog.
Wedding? PLEASE bring the dog. 🐶

Some of my favourite photos are the ones where your four-legged family members sneak into the story too. Because they’re part of your life, part of your family and, let's be honest, probably one of the reasons you have so many photos on your phone already. 😂

Happy World Photography Day 📷🤍

There are the photos you know you're going to take on a wedding day.

The beautiful portraits.
The perfectly arranged details.
The first kiss.
The epic sunset shot.

And then there are the photographs you have to be looking for.

A bride having the best time on the dancefloor with her favourite people.
A quiet moment in church.
A mother seeing her daughter in her wedding dress after a big health scare.
A bride and groom stealing a kiss during their reception.
A father and daughter embrace.

These are my favourites.

Because while the perfectly posed portraits are beautiful, these are the photographs that transport you straight back to how the day felt.

They're unpolished.
They're unplanned.
They're sometimes completely unnoticed in the moment.

But years from now, I think these are the photographs you'll treasure most.

Find your yellow. Find your happy. 💛

When we arrived, the mist was SO thick that we honestly weren't sure what these photos were going to look like.

Turns out… we had absolutely nothing to worry about.

The dreamy mist, the yellow canola, a whole lot of love and this beautiful family who always makes my job ridiculously easy.
I absolutely love photographing these guys. 💛

Sometimes you don't need perfect conditions - you just need a little bit of yellow and the people you love.

This photo session almost didn't happen this day... 🤍

After a really difficult morning, these two arrived feeling a little overwhelmed. By the end of the evening, they sent me this message:

"Our photoshoot ended up being the highlight of our day. Thank you for making us feel so comfortable from the moment we got there. It honestly felt like a little foretaste of our wedding day."

That right there is why I love what I do.

An engagement session isn't about knowing how to pose. It isn't about being perfect in front of a camera.

It's about slowing down for an hour, forgetting everything else, and simply enjoying each other.
