Following Round 5 this past weekend, we have had to take a careful look at the financial considerations involved in hosting our remaining events for the 2026 season.
In our conversations with riders and teams, it has become clear that some competitors would find it difficult to manage the costs of participating in another round in the same month and other competitors are committed to other events, which would mean that they won’t be able to compete.
After considering the above, as well as the current economic environment in our country, which also has an impact on our sponsors and taking into account the already low participation numbers we had at Round 4 & Round 5, we have decided that the GXCC event scheduled for 24 October 2026 will be cancelled.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding as we navigate these challenges.
The good news is that our event on 21 November 2026 will go ahead as planned!
The 2026 GXCC Championship will therefore consist of 6 rounds, with one throw-away round applied to the final championship standings.
We remain committed to our riders, families, supporters and the wider GXCC community, and we thank every competitor who has entered, supported and stood behind us throughout the season.
Your continued support means a great deal to us, and we look forward to seeing you all again on 21 November as we bring the 2026 season to a close.
