Two landscapes done last year on the farm where I live. The top picture in late afternoon sunlight, was after a fire had ravaged the lower field. This picture was painted in oils and the one below in pastels.

Some recent work during 2021. The mural is the hole in the wall in the Transkei. 1,2m x 1,5m. The landscape is of Oribi Gorge in KZN. The painting of the clipper ship is the 'Taeping'. Below that is a scene from the farm where I live, showing Natal Red Grass.

I attended a workshop on woodcut towards the end of last year conducted by Ben Nshusha which I found quite refreshing compared to my normal realism but as you can see I'm still way off the mark. My plan is to create a series on marine life, incorporating wave motion, bubbles and flow of water. I actually started my conceptual work in 2012 but didn't quite know which medium would best express the subject. Hopefully woodcut will be the answer. My Aztec Warrior was my way of getting to know the tools and technique in woodcut. Many thanks to Ben Nshusha for his guidance, a master in his own right.
