I've always said that it's dangerous to create within a vacuum. As much as I love getting lost in my own creative world, I also believe that the best ideas come from sharing thoughts, challenging each other and seeing things through someone else's eyes.

Which brings me to my rather cunning little plan to bring two strong, incredibly creative and very clever women onto the MT Studios team.

And I'm very happy to report that my plan has worked!

Having fresh perspectives, different ideas and two brilliant minds to bounce things off has been such a wonderful change. There's something very special about being surrounded by women who inspire you, challenge you and bring their own creative strengths to the table.

I'm incredibly proud of the little team we're building, and even more excited about what we can create together.

Here's to clever women doing wonderful things together!

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love thrifting and a good vintage find. So, when Bargain Queen in Swellendam called me in for our first photoshoot, I knew staying focused on work and not shopping was going to be a challenge!

Luckily, there was plenty happening to keep me busy, including rails of clothing making their way up and down Church Street with me chasing after them, camera in hand!

Bargain Queen really is a little gem of a shop, filled with lovely finds and plenty of temptation. If you're in Swellendam and need a little retail pick-me-up, do yourself a favour and pop in.

Just don't blame me if you leave with more than you planned!

For two years in a row now, I've had the pleasure of visiting Greyton. A little town I'd only ever heard people talk about before, and one I have to admit I've fallen hopelessly in love with.

There's just something about Greyton. I can't quite put my finger on it. It's the energy, the people, the beautiful surroundings and this wonderful slower pace of life that somehow makes you want to stay a little longer.

Having Mount Grace Country House as a client gives me a lovely reason to keep going back, although my visits are usually filled with work, cameras and content creation.

I think it might be time to put the camera down for a weekend and experience Greyton as a tourist for a change. Perhaps a little getaway with absolutely nothing on the to-do list!

How on earth has this year flown by so quickly? And surprisingly, without too many major hiccups along the way! I'll take that as a win.

With the end of the year creeping closer and everyone starting to ask, "Where will you be over Christmas?", my mind has somehow wandered to gifting.

I've been working on the loveliest gifting experience project for a client, and it's put me in a bit of a giving mood.

Now, wouldn't it be wonderful to design something really special as a year-end corporate gift for my own clients? Of course, my creative imagination and my marketing budget are having two very different conversations at the moment.

We might have to settle for a beautifully designed card instead!

There’s something about a little ribbon in the wind that feels like a reminder to loosen your grip and let the season carry you somewhere new.

Out here in the Overberg, surrounded by fynbos and mountains, inspiration often comes in the smallest details. A texture, a movement, a colour, a fleeting moment that somehow stays with you.

This is the kind of thing I love capturing for MT Studios. Simple, familiar and just a little nostalgic.

There’s something about this landscape that always pulls me back to myself.

The Overberg, the fynbos, the mountains, the late afternoon light. It all feels familiar in a way that is hard to explain. A reminder to keep noticing, keep creating and keep making space for the things that inspire me.

Sometimes the best ideas don’t come from sitting behind a desk. They come from getting outside, following the light and letting the landscape do the talking.

There are few places I’d rather be than behind my camera, somewhere out in the Overberg with fynbos all around me.

This time of year is such a gift. Everything feels full of texture, colour and tiny details just waiting to be noticed. It’s often these landscapes that inspire my work long before I ever sit down to design anything.

Camera in hand, boots in the veld, chasing the light and collecting little pieces of this place I love along the way. This is very much where MT Studios begins.
