Dearest current clients :)

(POWER OUTAGE) Thought it best to send out a quick notification, as following up with each and every message, email and question individually, and only specifically during these coming few days.. are proving to be a bit challenging with the very limited time available. Honest apologies!

This is merely a friendly informational post about the how and why and some behind the scenes.

At the moment, and with the current infrastructure in certain parts of our beautiful country, we have been sitting without any power whatsoever for the past 3 days. A complete power outage is currently creating all sorts of problems and with repairs ongoing and not yet fully resolved. During the previous week load shedding was also in full effect again, which has now all contributed to hopefully just providing you with a friendly heads-up and kind request for a bit of patience as we navigate this with you.

As we are relentlessly working on our current high volume months, we depend on work and all backup systems from a home based office that is HIGHLY dependent on fast fibre internet speed, plugged in power for all systems, constant high sync editing programs that need power, and time management between traveling to projects and locations far and wide.

Nightly work hours are the norm with many Photographers as during these high volume Summer months, we invest every hour (day and night) to creating your beautiful album, keepsakes and orders and we are running project management at all hours.

Unfortunately all backup power systems are currently depleted, and it creates a real problem. Kindly understand that the online programs and systems needed to process all albums and provide up to date work run at a very high power usage, as they require constant high sync speeds with big data files, and no backup source is truly sufficient as some accommodations and home based backup systems might only provide 4 hours max. to spare on any given day. As well as the small problem that we are not able to charge these up currently or on the day to day, and not everything is necessarily as easy as moving it elsewhere. It unfortunately is not part of a mobile unit that can be transported to (as an example) a coffee shop - to work from there before 4 PM / or within "office hours".

Therefor, we kindly & humbly ask your patience as we try and make alternative arrangements to get through an extreme high volume workload. Kindly believe and know that we feel every bit of frustration with you and eager to have this resolved as quickly as possible too. Every effort is being taken! A very big area just outside of Cape Town is being affected, and we are truly trying our very best to process each and every task as swiftly as possible.

As an example, late tonight, I was sitting next to a public swimming pool using their plug points to charge some UPS devices, to name but one example ;)

We are eager to get back to you and eager to work on the lovely albums and many many projects we are in the process of creating.

After 3 - 5 days of no power, it creates a ripple effect and directly influences our timeline for the next few weeks. Power has only temporarily been restored just before 22h PM tonight, with more maintenance from Eskom taking place in the coming days. We are still awaiting an exact ETA. Kindly bear with us, as I promise each and every project is safe, taken care of, and being processed as quickly as humanly possible with the available power & timeline at our disposal :)

It is unfortunate that no editing, processing, uploading, etc. can take place on our end if the systems are not plugged in, and with a bit of a heavy heart we are trying to manage any and all tasks needed either remotely or commuting back and forth between spaces available, reachable & open to us during the times we have available. We are working our way through each and every enquiry, message, tasks, and project at hand and will get back to you as soon as possible xx

Thank you for each and every drop of understanding. Creative work is a joy!! But kindly understand it requires time and focused attention. We want to absolutely give it the attention, focus, quality, energy and expertise it so deserves and allow it the time it undoubtedly takes.

The consensus for almost everyone is the same... What a crazy year 2024 has been! Still reflecting on all the different parts, pieces, events and challenges, and we are now officially in a new one.. not even close to rested :) BUT.....
My sincere wish is may this new year ahead be truly HAPPY, Joyful, Special, Abundant, and Peaceful for each and everyone of you who holds kindness, love, strength, connection, gratitude & space for each other! We are ready! May we all spread it around like Wild Fire🔥
May the little things be celebrated, the everyday things carry gratitude, and may we always keep dreaming together towards all the adventurous parts & silly little joys still to unfold. 🤗💛
