MIALI - Pieces of Us

Miali: Pieces of Us draws from the meaning of Miali — sunbeam, shimmer, ray of light — to honour the inner light we carry. The piece explores fragmented aspects of self, capturing fleeting yet powerful moments of memory, emotion, and reflection. It centers on the light that persists even through the fractures of growing up. The title signals a deep duality: light breaking through shadow, innocence meeting resilience, and the tension between the child we were and the adult we have become. Ultimately, the work positions healing as an ongoing act of reconciling these parts of self.
