Perfection has never really been the point for me.
When you look at a image you should feel its movement…
the laughs that don’t sit still,
the hugs that are a bit too tight,
the moments that end up slightly out of focus because no one was thinking about the camera.
The in-between bits. The almost-missed ones.
The photos that probably wouldn’t make the cut if a AI programme was choosing them.
Because the truth is we’re not perfect.
We’re messy and emotional and beautifully human… so why shouldn’t our photographs be too?
With everything becoming more automated, I find myself holding onto that even more. Slowing down. Paying attention. Choosing the images that feel right, not just the ones that look perfect.
When you book a shoot with me, it’s all done by me every image seen, chosen and edited by hand. No AI tools, even though I realise it could save me tons of time!!
Because at the end of the day, I don’t want you to just have beautiful photos.
I want you to have the ones that take you right back to how it felt 🤍
And for Elaine and her family this shoot felt just right!
