• This week last year, Johannesburg welcomed Supreme Audit Institutions from across the G20 and beyond for the SAI20 Summit.

Over four days, local and international delegates gathered for receptions, plenary discussions, gala engagements and cultural experiences showcasing South Africa, all centred on accountability, innovation and the future of governance. Looking back, it remains one of the largest and most significant assignments we had the privilege to support.

The work began... Late afternoon assignment at the airport to welcome our client back into the country. We learnt the hard way that pro cameras are not permitted without the necessary permissions. 🫢

Thankfully, family and friends stepped in and captured on their smartphones, then later we will piece together the arrival from many different perspectives. Yah neh! 🫣

The work began... 🍊 It's such a treat to visit a restaurant with a real, working orange farm in the backyard — right on Joburg's doorstep. A 40-hectare property with more than 50 years of family history, stories and spaces to better understand the venue and explore what we can do on event day.

• Can't help but take a moment to appreciate the textures and the many decisions behind a specific look. Every setting began as a conversation, an idea, a moodboard.

Then came the planning, sourcing, styling and refinement. The final results are often just the outcome of hundreds of small decisions made long before the guests arrive.
