Konnichiwa, it was an honour indeed to participate in the Kendo demonstration alongside my fellow Kendokas, at the recent Japanese Spring Festival held at The Japanese School of Johannesburg, as well as enjoying everything that the festival had to offer.
Thank you to the Japanese Embassy and The South African Kendo Federation for the invitation and the privilege of participating in the Japanese Spring Festival, and being able to showcase Kendo as a martial art. Thank you also to my wife, Natasha John, for her invaluable support on the day and contribution to Shadow and Light Photography.
With clear blue skies, sunny (some would argue scorching) weather and the exquisite cherry blossoms out in full glory, it was really a perfect Summer ‘s day… and how lovely to see families out and about enjoying some fun in the sun. After the Kendo demonstration, Natasha and I had a ridiculously ambitious notion that we would try to sample and share at least one item from every food stall. Needless to say, we both made a concerted effort but may have fallen short of a few stalls. If you did not get a chance to attend the festival, you certainly missed out – the food was seriously delicious!
, we are still drooling over your heavenly custard puffs! WOW!
