From the moment we arrived, every detail of Virasha & Luke’s day was bursting with life. Rich colours, intricate traditions, and the most beautiful setting. Everything was simply stunning, and then the bride walked in. Virasha didn’t just match the beauty around her, she outshone it all. Her smile lit up the entire ceremony, and together with Luke, their love was so natural, so joyful, and completely contagious.
It was so special witnessing their union and the meaningful rituals and symbolism that palyed out. And the way the couple looked at each other through it all. ❤️ A day full of culture, connection, and undeniable love.

The ceremony was absolutely beautiful, but what made it truly special was experiencing it through Virasha and Luke’s eyes.

This day was about so much more than two families coming together. It was a celebration of culture, tradition, and the joy of blending both so effortlessly. And in true Virasha and Luke style, it was filled with so much laughter, energy, and fun from start to finish.

Part 2: Temple Wedding ✨

There are just too many beautiful moments from Virasha & Luke’s wedding to fit into one post, so I’m sharing this celebration in three parts — working backwards so that it all comes together in chronological order when viewed as a whole 🤍The colours and festive vibes of this wedding were magical. The collective joy shared by everyone in attendance was so heartwarming. Everyone headed to the bride's family home for the reception. After speeches and food, we were treated to a dance by the newly married couple. Such a talented pair!

When a client contacts you ten years after you photographed her daughter’s 21st birthday, asking you to now photograph that same daughter’s traditional wedding part of the proceedings, one cannot help but feel incredibly humbled.

Virasha and Luke’s Hurdee ceremony was held in the garden under a marquee in the rain. Despite the elements working against us, we weathered on with proceedings, and the weather certainly didn’t dampen this couple’s joy. They had us in stitches.

The bright colours of the turmeric and flower showers of the marigold petals were a joy to behold and always a splendour to photograph.

Some highlights from last year. I love photographing Greek Orthodox baptisms, because when the baby is finally dipped into the font, you truly never know what the outcome will be. This little cutie took every part of the ceremony in her stride; calm, curious, and completely unfazed.

The reception was held at the beautiful Olive & Plates, Wits - where the décor was soft, whimsical, and filled with earthy tones that somehow made a scorching hot day feel cool and gentle. There were smiles, laughter, and so much love all around. Just the kind of celebration you wish you could bottle.

Thank you, Michelle, for trusting me to photograph such a special day for your goddaughter. It was an absolute privilege to capture this beautiful occasion.

I always love working with this family. They are so warm, friendly and make you feel right at home🤍 On this occasion, I was asked to photograph the newest little member of the family at his naming ceremony. Such a special day, and he was so wide awake for his age, and so incredibly loved. With all the hands ready to cuddle him, mom will definitely never be short of help with this little cutie.
