Some weddings feel extra special… and this one was a long time coming 🤍

Jayde & Jonothan’s journey is one I’ve had the privilege of capturing for so long ,from their couple shoot, to their engagement shoot, and now finally… their wedding day. Watching love unfold through different seasons of life and then standing there to capture their “forever” is something I’ll never take lightly.

And what a day it was. The weather was absolute perfection, not too hot, not too cold, with soft golden sunshine pouring over everything like it knew this day deserved to be beautiful.

Set at one of my absolute favourite venues, Greenhouse Café, the whole day carried this effortless magic, warm, intimate, and full of life.

But then came the reception… and wow, I don’t think I’ve laughed that much in a long time. Somehow a giant white cloth turned into the heart of the party, first rolled up into the most unexpected skipping rope, with guests jumping in like kids again, laughing until their faces hurt. Then later, opened wide and transformed into what can only be described as the ultimate bounce mat, with everyone launching people into the air and absolutely losing it. Pure chaos, pure joy, and the kind of fun that makes a wedding unforgettable.

And honestly, that’s what made this day so them, full of love, energy, connection, and a room full of people who knew exactly how to celebrate.

Jayde & Jonothan, after walking this journey with you for so long, this one will always hold such a special place in my heart ✨

Some weddings just stay with you… this is one of them 🤍

Alicha & Henco’s day at Artelier, surrounded by the breathtaking Harties mountains and those striking architectural structures, felt like something out of a dream. Every angle, every moment, pure magic.

But what makes this one extra special to me… is them. Just the other day I was all the way in Hluhluwe, KZN capturing their engagement, spending the night, getting to know them beyond the lens. And somewhere between the laughter, the stories, and the quiet moments, this stopped being “just another wedding” and became something personal.

Alicha & Henco balance each other in the most beautiful way — her bold, outspoken energy paired perfectly with his soft, steady calm (…until a drink or two, then we see a different side 😉). It’s the kind of connection that just works, effortlessly.

And can we take a moment for this look? Absolutely stunning. From Armon’s flawless hair, to Donique’s soft, glowing makeup, all brought together by a Diaan Daniels dress that was nothing short of breathtaking.

Days like these remind me why I do what I do ✨

Some love stories feel like they were written long before the day they’re told… ✨

Gabé & Michael’s wedding at Greenhouse Café was one of those. A “winter” day that didn’t quite act like one, the sun pouring in like a slow, golden Sunday afternoon, wrapping everything in the softest kind of light.

And then, the venue… every corner alive with plants, wild and beautiful and thriving, basically my personal heaven, let’s be honest. It made the whole day feel organic, intimate, and effortlessly magical.

But what really gets me? These two. A cross-continental love story that started on Instagram… and somehow turned into this real, tangible, breathtaking forever. The kind of story romcoms try to capture, except this one’s better, because it’s real.

Some days are just beautiful… and then there are days like this

Tyron & Amike’s wedding at Beuld Venue in Robertson was nothing short of magic. The air carried a little chill, but between these two? Nothing but warmth. The kind you feel in every glance, every touch, every quiet moment they shared.

Set against one of the most incredible venues, their day unfolded so effortlessly, raw, romantic, and deeply genuine. Proof that no weather could ever dull a love like theirs.

It wasn’t just a gorgeous wedding… it was a feeling.

This was a special one for me, theres nothing that bonds you with a couple like getting up at 3 am to drive to montagu so that we could shoot an early morning sunrise engagement session a year ago !

Brad & Dani have been choosing each other for years — through seasons, through change, through life, and now, finally, they’re choosing forever.

We had this whole golden, sun-soaked shoot planned… but the weather had other ideas. Instead, we found ourselves on a “short” little hike that turned into something so much more ,quiet moments, soft laughter, and the kind of intimacy you just can’t stage.

Because when love is this real, this easy… you don’t need perfect light. You just need them.

And wow, their chemistry? Effortless. Natural. The kind you feel, not just see.

Some love stories don’t need to be loud to be unforgettable… ✨

Natalie & Martin’s day at Venue Nouveau felt like stepping into a dream, soft, romantic, and effortlessly beautiful. The ceremony space was wrapped in flowing white drapes from ceiling to floor, like the whole room was holding its breath for that moment she walked down the aisle.

And then the reception… delicate pastel blooms everywhere, adding just the right touch of colour, gentle, elegant, and full of life, just like their love.

It was one of those days where everything slows down for a second… where every glance, every touch, every quiet smile says everything.

ONE AFTERNOON.

That’s all it took to see just how deeply Mille and Shane are wrapped up in each other.

The autumn sun was doing its thing, glowing warm and golden across the fields, but somehow these two were glowing even more. The kind of quiet, steady love that doesn’t need to perform. It just exists, effortlessly.

Their touches were soft, almost gentle enough to miss if you weren’t looking closely. But in those small moments there was so much meaning. Fingers finding each other without thinking. A hand resting just a little longer. The kind of closeness that comes from truly knowing someone.

Nothing rushed. Nothing forced. Just an afternoon, beautiful light, and two people completely at home with each other.

If this is the beginning of their story, I already know the wedding day is going to be something special.

An Italian girl falling in love with a South African guy and somehow ending up in the most beautiful, full-on traditional Indian wedding at Lakeside Venue. The kind of love story that crosses continents and cultures and somehow just makes sense.

I still think about our client call last year when Rushil casually said, “No don’t stress, it’s not a big deal, it’s not going to be that traditional.” 😂

Fast forward to the wedding day and BOOM. Full tradition. All the bells and whistles. Every ritual. Every colour. Every sacred moment.

And honestly? It was breathtaking. The richness of the ceremony, the symbolism, the layers of meaning woven into every part of the day. It wasn’t just a wedding, it was an experience.

But at the heart of it all were two people completely smitten with each other. Olga embracing every moment so beautifully, Rushil beaming with pride, families blending, cultures intertwining, and love standing right in the centre of it all.

Safe to say… it was very traditional. And very, very special.

And lets not forget the splash of swifie energy and a little throwback to the lizzy maguire movie !!

You know those days where the sun doesn’t just shine, it commits? That was this one. The kind of heat that settles into your bones and makes everything feel a little slower, a little softer, a little more intense. And somehow, it suited the day perfectly.

Nicole and Juan carry the kind of love that feels older than them. The steady, old-soul kind. The quiet understanding. The gentle glances. The way they gravitate toward each other without even thinking about it. Nothing loud or performative. Just deep, rooted connection.

Before the ceremony, they chose to do a first touch and private vows. No crowd. No audience. Just them, back to back, hands reaching, voices shaking slightly in the heat and the weight of the moment. It was one of those scenes that makes you lower your camera for a second just to take it in. Honest words. Soft tears. Promises that felt sacred.

And then the rest of the day unfolded in true Smitsfield fashion, golden light, wide open skies, and a celebration that felt warm in every sense of the word.

Yes, it was probably the hottest wedding I’ve ever shot.
But it was also one of the most heartfelt.

A celebration that truly oozed luxury and class from beginning to end. Every detail felt intentional, elegant, and effortlessly refined.

The decor was a dream in earthy-toned beiges, layered textures, soft candlelight, and the most dramatic ceiling draping that transformed the entire space into something cinematic. It was the kind of setting that makes you pause for a second when you walk in.
