There’s something about blue hour that gets me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

These photos honestly just reminded me why I love it so much.

That little pocket of time where the sun has technically disappeared, but the sky is still holding onto every last bit of light. Everything gets softer, moodier, quieter… and somehow just a little more magical.

It’s the kind of light that makes me stop and think, oh… THIS is why I love what I do.

And honestly, blue hour is slowly but surely starting to challenge my lifelong love affair with golden hour. 👀

Give me the deep blues, the dreamy shadows and that slightly cinematic feeling, and I’m a very happy photographer.

So yes, I will absolutely be that photographer dragging my couples outside for “just five more minutes” while the light is disappearing. 😂

Because sometimes those five minutes end up being the photos you never knew you needed. ✨

Some wedding venues are beautiful… and then there are places that feel like they belong in another world. ✨

Maryke & Rudi’s wedding at Dullstroom Country Estate was exactly that.

Imagine stepping into a forest that feels like Twilight and Harry Potter had a very beautiful little love child. Misty woodland, towering trees, rushing water and that unmistakable feeling that something magical might be hiding just around the corner.

And then, tucked away beside the river and waterfall, was where these two said I do. There could hardly have been a more enchanting setting for it.

The morning was its own kind of magic too. The girls were an absolute vibe, bringing all the energy, laughter and confidence… ci**rs included. Because apparently getting ready for your wedding day is better when you look this good and casually smoke a cigar with your girls. 😮‍💨

And Rudi? That white blazer deserved its own moment. Striking, effortless and impossible to miss.

Then came the couple shoot, where we wandered down towards the waterfall and eventually made our way up into the mountains. From the rushing water below to the sweeping views above, it felt like we were constantly stumbling into another breathtaking backdrop.

But somewhere between the forest, the mountains, the waterfall and all the beautiful chaos of the day, there was something even more magical happening.

Maryke & Rudi were simply completely themselves.

And honestly, in a place this enchanting, that’s exactly what made the day so unforgettable. 🤍

A little wild. A little romantic. A little mysterious.

And very, very beautiful.

You’ve seen Wits… but have you seen Wits like this? ✨

Lauren & Jayce’s engagement session was proof that sometimes, the most unexpected places can become the most beautiful backdrops.

The sunset came through with the most incredible contrast, creating these tiny pockets of golden light scattered through the darker spaces. Almost like someone had walked through with a flashlight, picking out exactly where the light needed to fall.

And somehow, it felt like the perfect metaphor for these two.

Because surrounded by all that shadow and contrast, their love was impossible to miss. Every glance, every touch, every little moment between them seemed to catch the light.

Wits has never looked quite this good… but then again, I think Lauren & Jayce had something to do with that.

Some love with grand gestures, big declarations, and a little bit of chaos.

And then there are those who love the hardest… quietly, deeply, and completely. 🤍

Benje & Anastasiia have the kind of love that doesn’t need to announce itself. You can see it in the way they look at each other, the little touches, the effortless closeness, the moments between the moments.

The kind of love that feels safe, passionate, and a little bit intoxicating all at once.

And if this is what their engagement session looks like… I already know their wedding day is going to be something special. ✨

Some weddings leave you speechless… and Renaldo & Jinesse’s was one of them. 🤍

From the very beginning, this day had a certain energy about it. Jinesse absolutely owned every moment of her morning. Elegant, confident, effortlessly beautiful… she didn’t just walk into the room, she commanded it. Those getting-ready photos? Let’s just say she brought the heat in the most timeless way.

Then there was Renaldo.

The moment he shared with his dad is one I’ll never forget. Watching a father become overwhelmed with emotion as he saw his son on one of the biggest days of his life was incredibly moving. Those are the moments that remind me that weddings aren’t just about two people saying “I do”… they’re about every heart that’s been part of the journey.

And Bell & Blossom… honestly, this venue never disappoints. Every visit reminds me why I love shooting here. Beautiful spaces, incredible light, and the perfect backdrop for a love story like this one.

This was a wedding I’d been looking forward to for so long, and somehow it still exceeded every expectation.

Renaldo & Jinesse, thank you for trusting me to capture the fire, the emotion, the laughter, and every little moment in between. Here’s to a love that’s equal parts effortless, passionate, and forever. ✨
