We are proud to announce: The Founder of Behindthelens, Aphiwe Moyo , is officially a YES Top 35 Under 35 (2026) honoree.

This recognition is bigger than one person — it’s 8 years of storytelling, of showing up, of documenting our communities with care.

Special gratitude to Centre for Creative Arts for hosting Aphiwe in 2023. That chapter laid the foundation for this milestone.

Thank you to Youth Employment Service for this opportunity and for spotlighting young creatives who are building South Africa with their craft.

And to our Behindthelens family — our clients, supporters, collaborators, family — thank you for 8 years of trust. From first shoots to a new studio, you have carried us.

WE ARE BECAUSE YOU ARE 💙💙!

Here’s to more stories, more impact, more lens work that matters.

You can read all about the story on the Daily Maverick DM168 supplement available online or at any participating Pick n Pay, Woolworths, Spar, Checkers and Exclusive Books stores, as well as selected airport outlets and bookshops.

Booked, blessed and just getting started.
