Founded in 1891 as the Port Elizabeth Amateur Photographic Society, the PE Camera Club is the second-oldest camera club in South Africa. In 1954, the club helped establish the Photographic Society of South Africa (PSSA) and has remained connected to the international photographic community through organisations including FIAP (International Federation of Photographic Art), the Royal Photographic Society and the Photographic Society of America.
Now, 135 years on, this exhibition celebrates that enduring journey. The images bring together perspectives from the UK, Malta, Cape Town, Zastron, East London, Jeffreys Bay and, of course, Gqeberha - alongside wildlife, landscape and photographic stories that reflect the breadth of our members’ interests.
