Castle of Good hope
As we drove through the castle gates we were met by a man in full uniform, guarding the perimeter of the castle, after welcoming us in, At the entrance, Josh was able to make his own Castle of Good Hope keyring. A memory for him to keep.
The castle was alive with visitors.
As we walked through narrow doorways, into each room, you could feel the history, almost feeling like you were standing in the middle of the 1600s. As we sat and had a coffee and something to eat, we spoke to the kids about when the castle was built, what happened in the castle and how history is so much part of their lives.
This was definitely a highlight of our holiday!

What a wonderful experience, even though it wasn’t our first time at the V&A Oceanarium, it still felt like we took a leap into the Ocean.
So much information and so many different kinds of sea life, it was a great experience.

3 of many of my favourite things…. Photography, the beach and shells.
All put into one
Photography - Capturing moments, freezing time, finding things not many stop to look for.
The beach - where we ground, connect with Earth , listen to the waves crashing on the shore, the smell, the breeze
Shells - not one is the same, broken but still beautiful, small, big, colourful or dull. They all tell a story of who once owned it, it amazes me how something so fragile can withstand the ocean

Shannon wore the hat I made, weighing 4,5 kilos, it was heavy but she’s always up for a challenge.

Cathedral of St Mary the Virgin Anglican Church

Arriving early, we decided to take a walk around the library, looking at the structure and the Beauty.
We stumbled across an open door where beautiful songs were wafting through the air… knowing that church service was about to start, but also knowing I needed a quick snap, we quietly stood at the door listening to the choir.
We were spotted and as the lady walked towards us, we thought oops… nope… she welcomed us in, told me I could take as many photos as I needed, spoke about the building inside and out… we were in awe of this magnificent building with the beautiful sounds of the choir.
The foundations were laid in 1825 and the first church service was in 1832. WOW!!!
I took a few snaps, but just standing there listening and taking it all in was such a feeling, it was absolutely beautiful!
