March you have been unbelievably good!

Wow, what an incredible month it has been! It was a looooong, hard working, crazy, beautiful and adventure filled month.

6 incredible weddings in South Africa from the middle of nowhere around Calitzdorop to Cape St Francis and everything in-between and of course, how can we forget my first ice cave freakin elopement (I still think of this day).

I have had the BEST weather for all my weddings, I really don’t know what I do to deserve this best weather. Even in Iceland, during the elopement, the snow was so soft and we had no wind (unheard of) but yeah then there was crazy wind where we wanted to start the next phase of the day, but we decided that we would come back later and the wind drop so much. Banging sunsets in South Africa. Couldn’t have ask for anything else.

Of course these month’s photos are Iceland dominated, I still can’t believe people choose me. We saw some amazing things, the snow definitely could be my thing. Sadly no Orcas (we were in the middle of yellow weather warning) and the ONLY flights that were allowed to land and take off was our departure date! LOL! Unlucky for me, lucky for my brides back home! LOL! Northern lights, extreme snow storms, wind like I have experienced before, soft snow, snow angels, snow men and for the first ever, I had decent coffee in Iceland - YAY! Now the only thing I need to figure out is how to get my all dogs there, then it will be home.

April, you next and I can’t wait to celebrate and adventure with amazing humans!

J & A / / Iceland Elopement / / South Coast

This day is a day I will want to remember waaaaaaay past my photography career. When I am sitting on my farm with my 33 golden retrievers drinking coffee and thinking back on my life.

Magical. Fairytale. Dreamy. Enchanting. Timeless. Adventured filled are just a few words to describe this forever day!

J & A THANK YOU for choosing us to capture this day. It was so much fun hanging out with you two and your friends, catching snow, snow fights, dodging the gale force force, freezing at Skogafoss, climbing, hiking, walking, running, admiring the big waves at Reynisfjara, freakin out with the photos, laughing, chatting all things Harry Potter and getting to know you two! I can’t believe how special this day was.

I can’t wait to sit down with a good slab of chocolate and coffeee and relive this day all over again! 🧡

E & N / / Wedding / / Stanley Island

Sharing forever days with absolute gems of humans doesn’t get old and I definitely don’t take them for granted. This day was one of those days that I wished time slowed down.

I was lucky enough to photograph E & N for their engagement shoot on a perfect summer’s day on Robberg and already then I knew, we are going to have SO MUCH fun on their wedding day and well when you get married on an island, with all your favorites around you, we were set for a banging day.

E & N, THANK YOU for including all of us on YOUR forever day. Everything was perfect, even had the clouds that I always hope for. Capturing your dad’s first look with you was incredibly special. E thank you for embracing a dirty dress, bare feet and champagne out of the bottle. N, dude thank for making all of E’s dreams come true and I loved the way you looked at E not just down the aisle, but everywhere, thank you for being an absolute gent the entire day and I honestly can’t wait to see what you two get up to.

I hope the world is ready for E & N!

B & A / / Elopement

I have done a handful of elopements in South Africa, it’s a bit of strange concept for South Africans. I mostly photograph my elopements in Iceland, so when I got a email from B & A (from Germany) that they wanted to elope in South Africa, I was like….mmmm in South Africa?!?

We went back and forth of possible locations, ideas and timelines and let me tell you, I would do this day over 1000 times. It is definitely in my Top 5 Best Days to be a wedding photographer.

We started at the fabulous Emily Moon for a private first look on their deck, drove to one of my favourite places on earth, Robberg Nature Reserve for their private ceremony and vow exchange and ill never forget’s B’s face when she saw the location I chose, far from people, noise (other than the ocean and me shouting BANGERS) we were surrounded by ocean spray, endless Robberg views, the occasional sea gull checking us out and the raw beauty of this Africa.

We enjoyed a few special moments here and then headed to Plett Game Reserve for a drive around searching for game and enjoying some bubbles and African picnic overlooking the reserve and then we headed to Kay and Monty for sunset and what a banger of a sunset we had. I have been lucky to have photographed a few times at Kay and Monty and I have never seen a sunset that stunning. I was so proud to be South African, to be able to share this beautiful day with two amazing humans.

As always I just want to shoot (and to be honest, I just LOVED having out with these two) and I have a sunrise opening a couple days later and offered it to B & A, let’s go back to your ceremony spot for sunrise and get that BANGING LIGHT! We here are the photos of that morning, the elopement day’s photos will follow soonest or when I get a gap from editing and been a full time four fur baby mom.

B & A I am 1000% convinced our paths will cross again. And I am already looking forward to it!

Well we did it! 🧜‍♀️ 🩵 🧜

S & T, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for being soooo awesome. Getting up super early, braving the cold water and my mental ideas. I can’t freakin believe we did it! I absolutely love the photos and spending even more time with you two! I don’t think I have laughed so much during a shoot as I did this morning.

I have been wanting to do this for a while and even though I am a bit of a nervous swimmer, I know what swims in our ocean, I honestly just saw the photo. Maybe not so much the process to get to the photo. Which is something I will relook at.

Also, the might have struggled a tat in the darker conditions. So will definitely try to redo these types of photos maybe during the day and possibly adding a weight belt for the couple and I can now finally, FINALLY justify the underwater housing for my .

My word, I could be slightly obsessed with this photo!

Can’t wait to get better at this!

L & B / / Forest Hall

When the sun bangs at Forest Hall, it BANGS!

This is the second wedding I have had the privilege to photograph for the one side of the family and it’s such pleasure to see them all again (and happily married too).

L & B, thank you for sharing your special day with me. Everything was absolutely perfect! 🥰

The September weather was perfect, the forest ceremony was intimate and special, the lawn games were fun, the drinks was on point, the food, oh my word, the FOOD, the coffee cart, the dessert table, the ONE and only speech, the PARTY and leaving the best for last, the sunset session on the beach. The sun banged and we made magic!

L & B, you two were so chilled and I can’t wait to see what the next amazing years has in stall for you two. You two are gonna set the world alight and I am here for it. 🧡

I really really did not expect this, not this year at least.

To be really honest here, from the 9th September, when we said goodbye to our big boy Dani, I really struggled to be “happy” at weddings. All I wanted to do was to be at home with Pip, Nono and Frankie, I didn’t want to miss out on a second of their lives. It was tough man.

Every time I laughed or smiled, I felt such guilt. How can I celebrate when my heart is so sore. It didn’t make sense.

But, I had such amazing couples and fellow wedding professionals who wrapped me up in kindness! I can’t tell you the amount of thoughtful gestures I received during this time from Dani’s star map, champagne, letters, Dani’s photos in artwork, doggy charity donations in HIS name, it was during this time I changed my logo and even my amazing logo designers did something in honour of my Lion. I have not and will never forget your kindness you have shown me.

So this photo that has been chosen was taken on the 4th October 2025 and again, not really wanting to leave home to shoot a wedding. And when you are feeling like this as a creative it is difficult to feel inspired!

I remember standing with Kath (the owner of ) eating a sticky mushroom rice bowl and looking at the looooong shadows on the grass and in my head I was like, “wow this might be interesting”. I asked Kath if it was okay that we could possibly do this shot and if people could walk on the cricket pitch and the circle around it, not even knowing 100% if this shot that I had in my head would ACTUALLY work. Of course Kath just said “YES, let’s do it!”.

So here we are, a FREAKIN JUNEBUG One of 2025’s Best of the Best!

I am incredibly proud of myself for showing up, doing my best and still creating BANGERS!

Thank you to the judges , and , huge congrats to the other 49 winners and thank you for continuously inspiring me to be a better photographer and human!

And again, THANK YOU to my awesome couples who has chosen me to be part of your forever days and trusting me with your precious love stories.

K & J / / Kay & Monty

There might be a FEW post dedicated to this BANGER of a day! I mean, just the decor alone could have four posts and what is that cake even.

Also, I have decided that I can no longer do any weddings if they don’t have hydrangeas. I could not take my eyes off the flowers and the ceremony area, it was something else. I loved it! I am RUINED!

K & J, like what was that even?!? I don’t even know where to start, the drone shots of the boys getting ready at , those beautiful details, your mom’s wedding shoes K, oh did I mention the DECOR, the sweets, the blue sunglasses, the ice cream, THE FREAKIN CAKE, the VOWS, one of the BIGGEST bridal parties in the history of SHP, lying under the bride as she is hurled up into the air, I rank this as one the scariest things I have ever done at a wedding or elopement and I have stood on some edges people, the amazing MC (honestly Em, quit your day job!), the landies, the FREAKIN SUNSET, the speeches, the FIRST dance and of course K & J.

I hope you two danced the night away surrounded by your fiends and family and that your day was everything and more that you wanted.

I can’t wait to see how you two evolve as a power couple, I hope there are ice lattes in your lives, adventures with no black mambas and dreamy sunsets. I’ll be here cheering you two on from the sidelines and I can’t wait to celebrate life milestones with you two.

Life lately…

I can’t believe my last post was nearly a month ago. And it’s not because I haven’t been busy, it’s because I am so busy! 🧡

My word so much has happened, is happening and still going to be happen and I am so excited for it all.

We got a surprise fur baby last week Wednesday and she has kept me busy, sleepless and healing my heart. We love her. Hurricane Charlie, our little bear. 🧡

I am slowly getting my weddings pre Iceland and America and man did we make bangers. This crazy season has started early since I have been back home I think there have only been three days that I haven’t shot. And from next week I’ll be shooting both mornings and sunsets. If mails and messages are slow it’s only because I am trying to balance a full and happy life.

My beautiful Garden Route Marine Calendars arrived and I am slightly in love. Those that ordered online, I’ll be backing them Sunday and Monday ready to be collected and delivered to you.

I’ll be heading to Iceland FIVE times next year and during all different seasons. I can’t wait to create beautiful memories and for the first time ever, heading to New Zealand in November 2026, it’s been a dream for a long time and finally found a window. Then heading to Abu Dhabi for a few shoots and the F1!

The biggest challenge for me right now is to get four crazy dogs to sit in front of the Christmas tree wearing hats and looking half normal. Wish me luck. 🧡

That’s me. Life update done. I’ll be around. But not really.

B & R / / Belle Balance

We all have dreams right! I have always said I would retire if I ever shot a bride or groom in a burnt orange tux. 🧡 Well I am done. Retired. Finished. 🤣

When I chatted with B & R about their day, their vision, what was important, timelines, fur babies we eventually drifted onto the topic of suits and as always I love to know what the colour the suit and when they said, we looking at burnt orange. 🧡🤯🧡 It didn’t feel real, like I was an old 95 windows computer processing what I thought I heard. Burnt orange. I basically screamed like a girl and then it dawned on me, I am going on retirement! 🧡🧡 I am finally going to be the Khaleesi of Keurboomstrand, what I was born to be!

Jokes aside, B & R, I can not tell you how honoured I was to be part of your forever day. Thank you for making one of my photography dreams come true, thank you for kindness, your laughs, your warmth, for being unapologetically YOU, your beautiful vows, those speeches and Mikey! 🤣 No Mikey, I am not flirting with you, you are still very photogenic and as much as I loved a the speeches, I would have paid top dollar to hear a speech from Mikey! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I am so excited for your futures and I know it’s going to be absolutely banging and just know there is a cheerleader cheering you on from the sidelines. I have been dying to use this audio from my favourite poet, and when I was figuring out what song to add to this post, I thought of this poem! It is one of my favourites. 🧡🧡

I can’t wait to take these burnt orange suits on a banging Icelandic adventure!
