I have been holding onto this set of images for longer than I should, only because I am struggling to find words. Each time I post I feel that this is my best work ever. And next time I should I feel exactly the same.

I have realize that I am falling in love with my couples. Not in a weird way. But in a way that I ONLY want the best for them. Not just during our shoot, but long afterwards too.

A & N, I mean what a freakin day! When I say we have to be flexible shooting in Iceland, I really mean it. So much so we had to move their date to the day before. Huge amounts of rain was predicted for their day. But they look it in their stride. Then we have pivot on their day again. We were meant to start at Reynisfjara Black beach for sunrise as that is what was predicted when we got to Vik it poured down. So we went to Kvernufoss and then to Vik. But again these two were so chilled.

They said their private vows in a quiet canyon that felt like something out of Jurassic Park and we ended the day with a stunning sunset at Seljalandsfoss (completely soaked) with our last adventure at the hidden waterfall, Gljúfrabúi, aka, the Butt Crack 🤣

A & N, thank you for being absolute bangers of humans, for all the laughs, the last minute changes, fighting the crowds (literally) and choosing us to shoot your day. It really was a BANGER of a day.

Until the next adventure

Aimie & Kyle 🇮🇪 → 🇮🇸

Some elopements just hit differently. 🧡

We started this adventure at Kirkjufell for sunrise, and somehow Iceland gave us the place completely to ourselves for over an hour. Not another soul around. Just Aimie, Kyle, that ridiculously beautiful mountain and the most PERFECT reflection in the water.

Honestly, Iceland was showing off.

From there we headed to Búðir Black Church, before wandering down to the beach where everything was peaceful, quiet and beautifully Icelandic. While the old sea witch in me was, obviously, distracted looking for sea glass. 😂🌊

Then it was on to Arnarstapi, with its huge basalt cliffs, stone bridges and those wild Snæfellsnes landscapes that make people look tiny, exactly how I like them.

The original plan was to meet again for the total solar eclips.

But Iceland said: absolutely not.

Clouds. Weather. Plans changed.

And if there is one thing Iceland has taught me over the years, it is that you don’t fight her. You thank you for what she gave you and then you pivot.

So the following morning we met again and headed into the Highlands to Kerlingarfjöll. My favourite location in Iceland.

The road to Kerlingarfjöll, let’s just say it was an adventure of its own. 😂

Bumps. More bumps. A few what the actual f**k moments.

But we made it.

And once again, WE HAD IT TO OURSELVES.

We climbed mountains, breathed in questionable amounts of sulphur, stood amongst steaming geothermal valleys, laughed our way around the trails and just soaked it all in.

Aimie and Kyle, you two were just BANGING! Adventurous, relaxed, hilarious (my word I have never laughed so much!) and completely willing to just go with whatever Iceland threw at us.

We might not have gotten our eclipse, but, Iceland gave us one awesome adventure instead.

And I was genuinely sad when it was time to say goodbye.

Thank you for trusting me with this one. 🤍

Until the next adventure!

B & A / / Elopement

I am busy updating my website (I am bored 🤣 not really) because the last thing I have posted was in 2025! And the last time I posted here was over a month ago. I have so many stunning elopements and weddings to post, I think we need 48 hour days.

But, this very special elopement still plays on my mind. The most beautiful humans B & A, it didn’t even feel like “work”, it felt like I was hanging out with mates and we were having the best Plett day ever, oh and I took a few snaps.

Getting ready and first look at Emily Moon River Lodge, followed by a stunning ceremony at a very secluded location on Robberg, a game drive and picnic at Belle Balance Bush Hideout | Boutique Game Lodge followed by dinner in the vines and a BANGING sunset at Wine Farm & Wedding Venue • Plettenberg Bay.

BUT, my absolute favourite moment? When we said our goodbyes and I was packing my equipment away in my car. I could hear B & A laughing and giggling, they just told their parents (back in Germany) that they eloped.

I don’t know why I must choose so few photos, but if you are interested to see more. There is a blog 🧡

Some elopements remind me exactly why I love what I do and S & R’s day was one of them. 🧡

These two travelled all the way from Canada, carrying their Guyanese roots with them, to promise each other forever in one of the wildest places on Earth.

We had spent months planning a magical Icelandic midnight sun elopement, but, as always, Iceland had other plans.

Instead of starting late at night, we pivoted to a 05h00 adventure. And honestly? I wouldn’t change a single thing.

We had Kvernufoss and Skógafoss completely to ourselves. As light rain fell at Kvernufoss, S & R shared their personal vows in one of the most intimate moments I’ve ever witnessed. We wandered through the lupine fields with mighty Skógafoss standing proudly behind us before heading right into the spray of the waterfall.

That’s where the real magic happened.

We laughed until our cheeks hurt, danced in the rain, popped champagne, and embraced every second of getting absolutely drenched. Those are the moments you simply can’t plan for, they’re the ones you remember forever.

We even attempted to make it to Reynisfjara Black Beach, but Iceland’s wind had other ideas. I’m fairly convinced it would’ve rearranged all our faces, so we called it there and ended the day with huge hugs instead.

Days like this remind me that the best elopements aren’t perfect because everything goes according to plan. They’re perfect because you’re willing to embrace whatever adventure unfolds together.

S & R, thank you for trusting me with your story. Something tells me this won’t be the last time our paths cross.

P.S. R... I really hope those brand new hiking boots survive many more adventures after the proper Icelandic baptism they received. 😂🥾

N & D / / Trash The Dress / / Keurboomstrand

Nothing excites me more than a bride asking me if we can do a next day or after next day shoot. Cos I know. We going to have the best time. Water, cliff edges, dirt and an adventure!!!!

N & D we were kind enough to “do anything for the photos”, including getting up for sunrise for this trash the dress shoot. And honestly if I look at these photos, why wouldn’t every bride do this?

I am SO freakin in love with these photos! 🤯

We had the best time at their wedding and vibes continued and we ended up swimming with a bronze whaler shark, the sun dipped in and out of the clouds, dolphins went past and the laughs continued. It felt as though I have known N & D for years and we were just a couple of mates hanging out and have a good time. Next time we should bring champagne and cake! 🥰

N & D thank you for freakin everything. You know where to find me and I can’t wait for our next session.

D & C / / Wedding / / Emily Moon

I feel like I am a broken record when I say this, but it is so true, I am THE LUCKIEST photographer in the world, I get to capture, share and celebrate banging love stories, week in and week out and D & C’s love story is a beautiful one to say the least.

You all have heard me chat about the “invisible red string” (if you don’t know what I am talking about, Google is your friend), and that string struck once again in the most beautiful and loving way possible. I have been lucky enough to see ALL kinds of love and this D & C love comes from a place where their hearts were open enough to allow this gentle, patient and beautiful love.

D & C’s it really was an honour to be part of this special day! D, firstly, I have MASSIVE hair envy and secondly “I am still talking about THAT DRESS”. You looked absolutely banging! I am sure everyone is still “talking about THAT DRESS!!!”. C, thank you for being an absolute gent, your sense of humour and doing that entire couple shoot with not one complaint, for checking in on us and having this amazing calming presence.

I wish you two ALL the TEQUILA shots, the quiet moments, the heart racing ones (just to make sure you still alive), at least a few more dates “in THAT DRESS”, the champagne celebrations for every win no matter how big or small, long hugs, slow dancing and many years to come full of adventures with all your kids!

Until we meet again,

xXx

A & L / / Wedding / / Prince Albert

Where do I begin?

There is a saying something like, it’s not the destination it’s the journey. Well, LOL! F@ that. That is exactly what I thought when my three hour scenic drive to Prince Albert turned into 11 hours of panic & swearing.

Google Maps, told me the roads where open and so I followed her all the way from one “road closure” board to another (we had really hectic floods a few weeks before), then she decided to take on “shortcuts” on gravel roads that my sweet princess car could NOT handle, one after the other I drove down these roads, hoping that they would get better or the end would be near, but each one I had to turn back and find another alternative. How I didn’t get a puncture was a miracle! It was getting so late now and I was SO far away from Prince Albert that it wasn’t even funny anymore.

The panic was real. I ran out of data, with little to zero reception, then my mobile service provider didn’t allow me get more data then I had to find a “3G” spot to phone and ask them to increase my limit or whatever, had to find accommodation in Beaufort West and stay the night (this is still 2.5 hours away from my final destination). There was an absolute STUNNING sunset! Yes there were plenty of tears and dose of panic and when I eventually got to my accommodation at 21h00 (I left Plett at 10h00) I made a coffee, had a hot shower and decided that tomorrow (the wedding day) was going to be amazing and what else could go wrong!

A & L, what can I say, THANK YOU for choosing me, for sharing your very very special day with me, for all your care and concern, for making sure I had “something to eat and drink”, for all the laughs and f-bombs, for organizing the best weather for your day and for being just you two. From the “Slaghuis to the Showroom” and everything in between! I loved that the wedding was small, loved that every single person there was special to you, loved the little reception in the trees under fairy lights, loved those freakin awesome speeches and the CAKE oh my word, THE CAKE!!

I hope you two had the most magical day ever and L, I’ll be waiting to hear if the paper plane becomes a REAL plane!
