The Black-backed Puffback 🐦

These tiny birds put on an incredible display during courtship 🌿
The male fluffs up the feathers on his back into a round white ball, which is exactly why they earned the Afrikaans name "Sneeubal" (Snowball) ❄️

It's always amazing to watch how much character and beauty can be packed into such a small bird.

This is exactly why I love living in the bush 🦁

Living in the Greater Kruger means living in a true Big 5 area with no fences, allowing wildlife to move freely between the reserve and the Kruger National Park 🌿

Last night we heard lions calling and stepped outside to listen… only to realize they were actually in camp 😳 Not even 5 meters from our room, we saw a shadow dash past us. We quickly ran inside and when we checked , it was this little lion cub 🦁

Crazy isn’t it !

Living in the bush has always been my biggest dream, and now I get to experience moments like this almost every day 🐾
Forever grateful for this beautiful life God blessed me with 🤍🌿

I’ve been visiting the Kruger National Park since I was only 2 months old 🌿
Before I could even understand the beauty of the bush, it already had its grip on my heart 🐾

Growing up right on Kruger’s doorstep meant that the sounds of birds, the smell of the bush after rain, early morning game drives and sunsets over the African wilderness became part of who I am ☀️

But what makes Kruger truly special to me are the memories it holds of me and my dad. There was barely a Sunday we missed going into the park together.
Those drives, those conversations, the excitement of every sighting… those are memories I will carry with me forever 🤍

Kruger is where my love for wildlife was born ,
It’s where I learnt to appreciate nature,
It’s where my passion for photography started,
It’s where I found peace, purpose and myself 🐆

And one of my proudest achievements today is having my work hanging in the Orpen Reception at Orpen Camp. To have my photography featured in the very place that shaped me into who I am is something I will never be able to put into words 📸
It is one of the biggest honours of my life 📸

No matter how many places I travel to one day, nothing will ever compare to the feeling of driving through those gates🌿
Kruger will always feel like home to me 🐘🌿

Today we celebrate 100 years of one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries on earth 🎂

May this beautiful place continue to inspire generations, protect countless wild souls, and remain untouched in its magic for another 100 years 🤍🇿🇦

Vultures might not be everyone’s favourite bird, but they are such an important part of nature and honestly...
