There’s something special about the moments before a wedding begins.

While everyone is arriving, finding their seats, and catching up with family, there’s a quiet window of time that often goes unnoticed. Instead of letting it pass, I like to make the most of it.

At this beautiful traditional Zulu wedding in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal, I took a few minutes to capture some pre-wedding portraits of the guests and family. No pressure, no rush, just natural interactions and genuine expressions before the celebrations kicked off.

These are the moments that often end up meaning the most. The laughter, the anticipation, the pride on a family’s face before everything unfolds.

A wedding isn’t just about the couple. It’s about the people who came to witness it, support it, and celebrate it.
