Winter at Vogelsang Boerdery slows everything down in the best way. Nestled at the foot of the Swartberg Mountains, the cottages invite you to pause and settle into the rhythm of the farm. Mornings start with coffee on the stoep as the Karoo light spills across the orchards, evenings end with fires crackling and conversations lingering late into the night.
What makes staying here so memorable is how much you feel part of the farm itself. The cottages are woven into the landscape — surrounded by vineyards, orchards, and the quiet hum of country life. Walking the gravel paths, hearing the crunch underfoot, and looking up at skies scattered with stars, you don’t just visit Vogelsang, you live it.
As a photographer, I was drawn to the textures of winter — bare vines, soft mountain light, and the cozy charm of the cottages. But beyond the images, it was the experience that stayed with me: the stillness, the authenticity, and the way this place makes you feel at home.
I cannot wait to return this spring when the orchards burst into bloom and Vogelsang reveals a whole new side of its magic.🤎
