Just an update.
As many of you know, yesterday afternoon we found this beautiful baboon after she had been struck by a car. We didnāt think twice, we picked her up, got her to the SPCA, and they helped get her to the vet in Hartenbos as quickly as possible.
This morning we received an update, and sheās still alive. That alone is something to be grateful for.
Sadly, her injuries are serious. She has a cracked skull, head trauma, and an injury to her left shoulder. Sheās still fighting, and weāre all hoping she pulls through.
This little soul reminded me of something important: an animalās life has value too. They feel pain, fear, and deserve compassion just as any living being does.
If you ever hit an animal on the road, please donāt just drive away. Stop if itās safe to do so, call for help, or get the animal to someone who can help. One small act of kindness could be the difference between life and death.
Every life matters.
