Closing the loop for the proposed Shark Catch Exclusion Zone.

19-year-old endurance swimmer Kane Johnstone will take on his third Project DEEP swim, approximately 13km from Dana Bay to The Point, completing the journey around Mossel Bay’s proposed Shark Catch Exclusion Zone (SCEZ).

The route mirrors the iconic St Blaize Trail, giving locals the opportunity to follow Kane’s progress along the coastline as he takes on the final leg in the water.

The swim is weather-dependent, with the exact date to be confirmed.

📍 Dana Bay First Beach → The Point, Mossel Bay
🌊 Distance: ±13km
🦈 Purpose: Supporting the proposed Mossel Bay Shark Catch Exclusion Zone

For the third year in a row, I’ve been nominated as one of the best photographers in Mossel Bay… and for the third year in a row, I’ve been blessed to win.

To some, it might just be another award. To me, it’s a reminder that the countless early mornings, late nights, long hours, and relentless dedication are all worth it.

Photography isn’t just my job, it’s my passion, my purpose, and my life. Every photo I take is an opportunity to tell a story, and I give everything I have to get it right.
