Netcare 3 (ZS-HCF)

I was privileged to capture Netcare 3 returning to base after completing a mission, earlier in the month. One of the many divisions of Netcare 911 bringing care to patients when they need it the most.

Netcare 911 operate a 24/7 Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (H.E.M.S.) providing ICU-equipped air ambulances in partnership with National Airways Corporation (NAC Helicopters). These dedicated aircraft deliver advanced life support and rapid transport for critical trauma and medical emergencies across South Africa.

A big shout out to all the men and women at Netcare911, serving all over the country, thank you for your bravery, courage, passion and resilience 🙏

ZU-FLM (SAAF 7508)

During my CPD visit to Rand Airport end of July 2026, I spotted ZU-FLM, a North American T-6 Harvard, former SAAF serial 7508 in it's unique chrome only attire.

It had been pulled from it's hanger but knowing that just about a week before it had some, what sounded like engine issues, as it never flew. This time round however, it started up and was soon on it's way to taxi right on my me.

I absolutely LOVE Harvards! My all time favorite radial motor airplane - I fell in love with them at the age of about 5 years old whilst attending the EAA airshows held at Margate, KZN. From it's looks to its amazing distinct motor sound, everything about it immediately gets my attention and takes me back to my childhood instantaneously!

This all chrome attire compared to the dayglo orange that I adore is quite unique, can make for some very interesting photos as well 😊

I would love to be able to see (and hear) a mass Harvard formation again - that would be something!

ZU-RDA

One of the many gyrocopters that were seen at the gyrocopter fly-in at Kitty Hawk Aerodrome on Saturday 15 Aug 2026.

What got my attention was how this pilot showed us a bit of his skill and passion for flying his gyro, spiraling it down into the pattern entry whilst waiting his turn to land - this was very entertaining to watch!

My First time visit to Kitty Hawk Aerodrome was on Saturday 15 August 2026 where they held a gyrocopter fly-in. What an enjoyable morning this was, what started off as a slightly brisky morning after the cold weather we had earlier the week, turned out into beautiful sunny day.

With 30+ gyrocopters were reported to have joined the breakfast fly-in. The morning air was filled with chatter and laughter along with all the smells of breakfast, pancakes, and coffee.

It was quite the sight to see all the gyros parked in front of the restaurant and from side angles the cockpits lined up, glistering in the sunlight was beautiful and colorful, similarly with all the tail ends and props everywhere.

I enjoyed the morning out amongst this awesome community and look forward in visiting again!

Two girls and a batch!

The most delicious, scrumptious, pick-out-every-last-crumb-from-the-packet cookies you will ever eat!!! These gourmet cookies are, to say the absolute least, YUM!!

I was privileged to try out the choc chip (my favorite) and the milky bar cookies, the Pistachio was also very nice, however, once you stop you don't want to stop. Various flavors to choose from.

ZU-LIS

I spotted this gorgeous Zlin Savage Norden last Saturday, 8 August 2026, at Jack Taylor Airfield. I fell in love the moment I laid my eyes on those beautiful orange flaps! (nothing to do with the fact the orange is my favorite color and obviously the best color in the world 😉😅).

The list of aircraft that I like is long, but these smaller aircraft occupy a soft spot in my heart! The color scheme on this gorgeous Norden is eye-catchingly stunning in my personal opinion.

I immediately went to go speak to the owner who is such a nice guy - me being so excited by the Norden and just wanting to capture her behind the lens and being so excited, I never even introduced myself 😅.

This beauty has a few mods, the flaps can be seen extended more than usual, almost acting like an airbrake, and then is yields some electric struts as well, extending on demand which I think is just super cool!

Thank you Gidon for taking the time to show me your beautiful aircraft, I absolutely love it!

The boys from Navion Display Team powered by Aircraft-Inc blessed us with a beautiful aerial display again on Saturday, 8 August 2026 as they signed off the spot landing event held at Jack Taylor airfield hosted by Krugersdorp Flying Club as only they can!

One of my favorite things to watch at theses events!
