The absolutely striking African Hawk Eagle!

I discovered this little foam-nest tree frog emerging from its shelter in the hollow of a mopani tree, right next to our bungalow at Shingwedzi Camp on a recent trip to Kruger. I didn't have a macro lens handy but still managed to get some relatively decent shots of the little guy 🤎

Marabou Stork, beautifully ugly! 🖤

These odd-looking birds often scavenge alongside vultures at lion kills, but they're equally capable of finding their own food. They are opportunistic feeders, often raiding quelea colonies, or making a quick meal out of locust swarms, flocks of other birds, or large schools of fish.
