Life is like photography⌠you need the negatives to develop.
This quote lingered with me the entire time I was in Americaâsomewhere between the fast heartbeat of New York and the quiet, open roads of Texas.
I arrived in New York surrounded by noise, movement, and endless stories happening all at once. It was overwhelming at timesânavigating unfamiliar streets alone, chasing light between towering buildings, questioning my directionânot just in the city, but in myself. Yet in those moments of uncertainty, I found some of my most powerful frames. The shadows were deeper, the contrasts sharper, the stories more real.
Then came Texasâslower, warmer, more grounded. Time with family, laughter that needed no translation, and landscapes that stretched far beyond what the eye could hold. There was comfort there, but also reflection. Being partly solo and partly surrounded by loved ones made me realize how both solitude and connection shape the way we see the worldâand how we capture it.
Photography taught me that not every shot will be perfect. Some will be underexposed, some blurry, some taken in difficult conditions. But those ânegativesââthe missed shots, the long days, the moments of doubtâare exactly what help you grow, refine your eye, and find your voice.
From the chaos of New York to the calm of Texas, this journey reminded me that beauty isnât just in the highlights. Itâs in the challenges, the imperfect frames, the in-between moments.
Because just like in photography, life develops us through its negativesâand sometimes, thatâs where the real magic begins. đˇâ¨
