Langebaan Verreaux's Eagles

Still no sighting of the male. The female has remained in the area. She seems to stick close to the nest area. I have seen her on the nest for small periods. It is almost as if she is awaiting the the return of the male. At times calling out. Sad state of affairs.

Update: it seems as if tragedy has struck once again. I have not been able to locate one of the eagles for more than 3 weeks now. I suspect it is the male that has gone missing, but I still need to confirm. They were actively busy with nest preparation and and they were mating so all seemed well. The remaining eagle is still present and calling.
Nothing to do but keep an eye. Not the news I was hoping to share.
