A typical Kgalagadi scene. People who have been to the Kgalagadi will understand. This scene reminds me of the Kgalagadi when I am not there. With the Camelthorn tree to the right framing the image with the two Cheetahs on the lookout from a dune. This is how Cheetahs in the Kgalagadi spot their prey and then move closer to the river bed to lie under a smaller Camelthorn tree awaiting the perfect opportunity.

“Sutherland/Roggeveld Karoo Startrail”
We had a great time in this stunning region searching for some compositions in the day that we would be using at night as foreground to complement the startrails at night. Found this old broken down farmhouse of the late 1800’s. Off course the stars in the Roggeveld Karoo is just an amazing sight to see in the clear winter skies combined with the peaceful surroundings. PS: it gets really cold at night waiting for two hours for one composition.
