So during the midst of this pandemic I found myself craving some live music and decided to offer to record the music of a few musicians who's music moved me.
Musicians who had that thing, the thing that makes you stop and take notice of their performance in some way that really connects to you.
I first saw Ryan Michael perform at an open mic that I was performing in too with Moshe Singer Music a number of years back, and I never forgot the experience of hearing him that night.
He was totally stoked when I made the offer, and we spent a night recording an acoustic set of 4 or 5 songs and it was amazing.
Ryan did the motion graphics and the sound recording and mastering and I took care of the camera's, shooting and editing. We set up the lighting and shot together on the night.
This is the first piece of goodness from that night, enjoy and let us know what you think!
Also if you know an artist that shines beautifully when performing acoustically, feel free to make a suggestion for who you think should be recorded next.
Oh and fun fact - the first artist I recorded was Jodie Reid, and as it so happens the two of them apparently placed in the top two spots of a battle of the bands some years back - so that's pretty crazy!
