Grey sunbirds are found along the coastal forests of South Africa. Their loud distinctive call can be heard over some distance. Found singly unless a dense food source is available it is noticeably large, grey with a greenish sheen on the crown and shoulders. Red shoulder tufts appear when it is competing for nectar.
