Watchful eyes during the fight of two hippos.
These younger hippos were having an argument and pushed each other around the stream without making real headway.
The third hippo and the African Jacarna watched on, what looked to be somewhat amusing to them.

The groups scout sitting in the bush above the others.
While the group was hanging out in the open, this individual took place in the branches above and watched over the group. Every now and again they swapped out the individual sharing the role. Wonderful to watch how they behaved and most of them took turns guarding the gang.

Little baboon stretching in the afternoon sun.
We came across this baboon family on a clearing in the bush. They were just settling and getting ready for their evening routine. We watched the group for some time and especially the little ones were fun to watch. How they learned, played and developed, it seemed like you could watch them figure out things all the time even in the short glimpse we had into their life.
It’s always great if you can spend some time and soak up the sightings not just rushing from one animal to the next 🥰

Mongoose on the Zambezi banks.
This little one came out of their den in the ground, scanning the surrounding for threats. Then after the “all-clear” the second one followed and they set off watching out for each other in search of dinner I guess. Wonderful to witness the interaction between individuals also in the animal kingdom.

White elephant 🐘
During an afternoon game drive we came across this herd of elephants. They were bathing in a dry dust pit, that was virtually white. When they were done and came back out they looked like ghosts coming out of the dust cloud.
It was fun to watch them enjoy themselves and a surreal as well as artistic sighting when they came out. 🤙

More a painting than a picture. 🖼
But in my mind it’s a vivid memory of a fun drift dive along the reef in Yap.
Drift dives are like watching a documentary...the current pushes you along the reef and you cover a large distance effortlessly. A great way to explore the underwater world and I often catch myself completely forgetting time and space just floating along 🤙
