The Wacken Metal Battle Sub-Saharan Africa Kenya heat hosted by Rock Society of Kenya on the 10th March 2024 at Nairobi Street Kitchen.

This heat saw AutoMetal and Last Year's Tragedy battle it out for the opportunity to represent Kenya at the Wacken Metal Battle Sub-Saharan Africa finals in Johannesburg alongside bands from South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia and Angola. The winner will get the incredible opportunity to perform on the global stage at Wacken in Germany.

The first guitar workshop of the year started off with Abel Mwagha sharing insights and experiences while taking a deep dive into Afro Jazz and Acid Jazz.

This workshop was organised by Nairobi Guitar Festival in collaboration with Rock Society of Kenya at The Kenya Conservatoire of Music.
