Seeing the smiles on people’s faces when they receive a print is exactly why I fell in love with photography in the first place.

Where thousands of images are scrolled past and forgotten every day, a printed photograph becomes something different. It becomes real. Something that gets framed, displayed, shared, and treasured.

There’s something special about watching someone hold a memory in their hands for the first time. You can see the emotion. The connection. The story.

Maybe that’s a reminder that some moments deserve more than a screen.

I think it’s time I started printing again.

For years, getting to Mauritius from Cape Town involved airports, connections and enough waiting around to age a good bottle of wine. Not anymore.

From 02 October 2026, Airlink launches a twice-weekly direct flight from Cape Town to Mauritius aboard its shiny new Embraer E195-E2. No middle seats. Complimentary meals. Decent luggage allowance. Space for your golf clubs. Job done.

The King Price Xtreme Polo was spotted stretching its legs at Zwartkops ahead of this weekend's race, making all the right noises and absolutely none of the sensible ones.

If practice is any indication, the stopwatch should probably start looking for excuses.
