For the last four years, I've been working on a personal project photographing flowers grown in and around my garden in upstate New York. Last year I was sad to miss spring entirely while traveling for work, so this year I made sure I was home at just the right time to capture the very start of the blossoms. It still amazes me every year. After these freezing cold winters, all of this beautiful life comes rushing back.⁠

Upstate New York, this is a project that focuses on capturing the moments where life and upstate intersect. I find inspiration in observing the interactions between people and the natural world that surrounds us.⁠

Sometimes, we consciously choose what to photograph by carefully framing and composing our subjects. Other times, we capture what appears in front of us, in a specific place and time.⁠
⁠
Upstate New York provides a beautiful backdrop for my exploration. Its stunning landscapes, changing seasons, and tight-knit communities become both the setting and the characters in my ongoing visual story.⁠

By documenting life as it interacts with me, I celebrate both the planned and unexpected moments. I hope to reveal the beauty in everyday life and extraordinary moments, weaving a visual narrative that honors the captivating and ever-changing dance of life in Upstate New York.
