Storyline AV Productions was contracted to capture the business asset handover in Poortjie one of DRDGOLD FWGR (Farwest Gold Recoveries) impacted communities.

As part of the Umsizi Sustainable Livelihoods Programme, qualifying participants receive business assets after an intensive period of training and business planning. This ensures each participant is equipped with the right tools to grow their enterprise, strengthen business development, and build long-term sustainability.

This entire video was shot on an iPhone 13 and edited in Final Cut Pro, proof that when the message matters, impact doesn’t have to come with a big budget.

Storyline Media has partnered with Lifedezign to capture community development projects as they unfold, creating impactful content for accountable corporate feedback videos, social media marketing, and internal and external communication.

Lifedezign is a community development specialist with over 15 years of experience in horticultural and agricultural projects, ranging from community-run rehabilitation nurseries for mine rehabilitation, to food security initiatives supporting schools and small-scale farming operations.

In addition, Storyline Media will assist with brand development and web content creation, enhancing visibility and strengthening Lifedezign’s local and international reach.

2025 Christmas Gift Outreach a Impophomo ECD initiative

At Storyline AV Productions, we are honoured to document stories of impact that truly matter. In 2025, we captured the heart of our church’s Christmas Gift Outreach in Zandspruit, where over 800 Christmas gift bags were distributed to children through the Impophomo ECD initiative.

What began years ago as simple Christmas boxes has grown into a meaningful programme that now reaches even more children with stationery, gifts, and educational resources bringing joy, dignity, and hope to families in the community.

For nearly a decade, Storyline has documented this journey of growth, care, and transformation.

DRDGOLD Limited / Umsizi | Livelihoods Programme Highlights

Since 2016, Storyline AV Productions has had the privilege of documenting the DRDGOLD / Umsizi Livelihoods Programme an inspiring journey rooted in inclusion, dignity, and real household impact.

What started as a door-to-door initiative has grown into a thriving ecosystem of opportunity. Thousands of participants have progressed from household food production to farming larger land parcels, accessing markets, and building sustainable enterprises.

Beyond livelihoods, the programme also responds to social challenges by equipping faith-based leaders to support GBV survivors and address substance abuse showing that true development is both economic and social.

It’s been an honour to capture this story of growth and resilience over nearly a decade.

I had the privilege of being part of an Enterprise Development (ED) project for DRDGOLD Limited in Soweto, focused on supporting and strengthening a local sewing company Kepano Ke Matla.

During the project rol out, I also captured the progress on the ground. Through this process, Scarletcord Media handled most of the editing, using the footage I captured to build a strong, authentic storyline that reflected real growth and impact.

These projects became some of the earliest corporate feedback reports we produced for Umsizi Sustainable Social Solutions Pty Ltd helping corporate partners clearly see the value and outcomes of their investment.

Following the success of this initiative, we were given the opportunity to set up another sewing company in Zandspruit for Kones as part of a CSI initiative, further extending the impact of enterprise development through skills, job creation, and sustainable local businesses.

This has been an incredible project to be part of since 2016 Taung gold has invested in people. In addition coordinating the production of this video, I was also involved in several components of the productive water infrastructure programme including training local installers to set up rainwater-harvesting systems and coordinating the installation of crop tunnels. The exponential growth in community participation, from preparing trench beds to starting their crop planting to business expansion, has been truly inspiring.
