A little unexpected turn of events 🤍
I was meant to attend this nikkah as a guest, but when my friend’s photographer had to cancel at the very last minute, I found myself swapping my guest dress for my camera and stepping in to capture her day instead.
And honestly, I’m so glad I did.
There’s something quite special about photographing a close friend on one of the most meaningful days of her life. I found myself drawn less to the perfectly posed moments and more to everything in between - the tears, the duas, the quiet glances, the hands held a little tighter, the embrace after the nikkah, and all the expressions that somehow say more than words can.
Every photograph in this Reel was captured on my Canon R8 with a 50mm lens, and I chose some of my favourite black-and-white images from the day for this little collection. There’s something about black and white that feels especially intimate, allowing the emotion and the little details to take centre stage.
I’m also incredibly grateful that these two allowed me to share their photographs. So many of the weddings I photograph are kept private, so being trusted with the opportunity to document this and share a little piece of it here means a lot to me.
Alhamdulillah for being able to be there, even if I did end up working instead of simply being a guest. 🤍
May Allah bless their marriage with endless love, barakah and sakinah. Ameen.
