(n.) The soul, creativity or love put into something, the essence of yourself that is put into your work Photography chose me one day.

Before that day I never gave it a thought, ever. It has become the essence of who I am and is the elemental birth place of how I express myself by turning the perceived mundane into the magical imaginative. It is how I wear my soul on the outside. Welcome to my world where time stands beautifully still in stolen moments of lost and forgotten treasures through photography. You are here either becau

se I sent you here, you asked to be here or accidentally found yourself here. Whichever it is, I hope you find yourself lost, the way I do, in a secret realm that is largely unseen, overlooked and simply spellbinding. I hope to bring your attention to ordinary miracles, the little things, the diamonds underneath the souls of your feet, the simple beauty of life that unfolds quietly, majestically and as naturally as what air is to your lungs. When you leave here and click that little cross on your browser tab, I hope that even if only for a moment, you feel a little more brushed with appreciation for what you have experienced here because gratitude gives you more of what you thought you never had. That for one sweet moment, you were transported by what magic often leaves us feeling; BREATHLESS. That you go with a feeling of having your eyes and heart slightly widened by the depictions of my soul. I don't consider myself a photographer; it's more like an artist with a soul for taking photographs. Thank you for visiting Meraki Imagery :)

There is a longing inside you that has no clear origin. A homesickness for somewhere you have never visited in this lifetime. A feeling that you do not quite belong in this era, this place, this version of the world. You have always felt older than your years. Wiser than your experiences should have made you. Drawn to depth while everyone around you seemed satisfied with surface. This is the mark of an old soul. You have been here before, learning lessons across lifetimes that most people are only beginning to understand. Keep looking. Your people exist. They will feel like coming home when you find them.

A butterfly landed beside a scorpion. Everyone warned her. She wasn't afraid. She said, "You don't scare me." No one had ever loved him without fear. So he walked beside her. Slowly. Carefully. Hiding the one thing that made him dangerous. She showed him flowers. Sunlight. Softness. She showed him a world without defense.

One evening she whispered, "I wish you could fly with me." He looked at his body. Heavy. Grounded. Armed. "I wish I could too." And he meant it.

That night, while she slept peacefully beside him, his tail moved. Not from cruelty. Not from hatred. From instinct. She woke in pain. You said you wouldn't hurt me." He broke down, "I didn't mean to." And that was the tragedy. The butterfly whispered, "I know." And with shaking wings, she left. Not because she didn't love him. But because love doesn't survive where safety dies.

Not everyone who hurts you is a villain. Some souls are just not built for gentleness. You can understand them, you can forgive them, but you still have to leave. Because no matter how pure your wings are, you cannot love someone out of their nature. She flew with broken wings but she flew. And one day she landed somewhere soft, somewhere warm, somewhere nothing sharp could reach her.

You are the butterfly. You always were. Stop folding your wings for places that were never safe to land.

When life knocks your anchor from you, hold on...don't let go, don't give up. There is deep beauty in every phase of the unravelling, in every stage of the rebuilding. You are the architect of your life. Build from the place of your most primal self...the place where your wild instinct knows exactly what to do before the noise of the world deafens it.

My dog walked under her web disconnecting the anchor line while I was photographing it and this is the moment the line snapped. It was absolutely beautiful to watch how the web floated in the breeze and I wished that I was a National Geographic videographer to capture the ethereal majesty of gossamer threads dancing in the afternoon light and wind despite how heartsore I was that all her hard work was torn from her in a second. She held on though and stayed connected to her threads for the whole duration of me taking seven hundred and something photographs of a beautiful web destroyed. Such a tiny creature...such an awe-inspiring construction. I hope she caught something in her dysfunctional little dreamcatcher.

My heart skipped a couple beats remembering what it felt like...to be on the other side of the lens again with an adored creature...the spider that started it all.
