Beloempie Handgemaak – My Story

Beloempie Handgemaak began the day I became a mom to my little RG – lovingly known as Beloempie. Like every proud mamma, I wanted beautiful, unique outfits for him. I spent so much money on “custom” clothing, only to learn the hard way that some people were buying fast-fashion pieces and simply adding his two-letter name. They called it unique… but it wasn’t.

Then I tried matching outfits. I had them made, wore them once for photos and a special occasion, and that was it. After just one wear, seams were coming loose everywhere. It was heartbreaking, especially after paying so much.
I must say – one exception was a bunny suit I bought from Cherelle Vermaak. The quality was outstanding!

Later that year I reached a point where I said: Enough. It’s time.
I asked my mom for her sewing machine. My first attempt ended in knots and frustration, but I refused to give up. I searched online for a sewing school and found Sew and Grow, where I was welcomed, taught with patience, and learned so much. I’m forever grateful for their guidance.

After just 8 lessons, I bought my own sewing machine and an overlocker… and from there, the rest is history.

Today, I’m living my dream: creating beautiful, high-quality, handmade clothing from my heart to yours — pieces made with care, intention, and love.
