Food will always look good when you are hungry... But, there are easy tips to follow that make food look even more appetising:

1. Let the light hit the food from the side or from the back.
2. Use smaller plates and bowls than you would to eat in.
3. Make the most important part of the dish stand out.
4. Make sure the produce you use is top quality.
5. Choose the angle that best fits your food.
6. Don’t dish your plate up as you would when eating.
7. Don’t use elements that will distract from the food.
8. Plan your shots ahead of time.
9. Use lines to guide the eye to the food.
10. Aim to use an odd number of elements.

TIPS FOR MODELS TO LOOK THEIR BEST IN THE NEXT PHOTO SHOOT

1. The mirror is your BFF, take her advice.
2. Create separation between your limbs from your body.
3. Have a basic understanding of light.
4. Be aware of ‘mothing’. (Keep your distance from the light)
5. Recognise when your eyes are over-rotating.
6. Know how far you can turn your head before your nose ‘breaks your cheek’
7. Elongate your neck.
8. Keep your hands loose and fluid.
9. Play with what is available.
10. Own a ‘modelling kit’ and take it on all shoots.

Finding photography ideas and inspiration can be a challenge. We want to share a few photo shoot ideas that are far from boring!

- Photograph something new, and move away from your comfort zone!
- Pick a movie or tv show concept to make the shoot themed.
- Juxtapose your subjects. Think of things that contrast.
- Make the most of motion. Life is rarely static!
- Photograph the same subject multiple times.
- Keep using the same prop for one photo shoot and get different angles of it.
- Shoot from different perspectives.
