Sam Fourie

Sam Fourie I specialise in capturing celebratory occasions, portrait photography as well as events in that same “street photography” style. Welcome to my online presence.

Posed pictures are often a big part of such occasions but my style is to catch a glance, a smile, a look in a heartbeat. Over many years, my passion for street photography – capturing a fleeting moment in time that tells a story – has enabled me to hone my skills into other photographic avenues. Today, I specialise in capturing celebratory occasions (weddings, birthdays and events such as matric d

ances) in that same “street photography” style. I realise that posed pictures are often part and parcel of such occasions – and I will add them into any work I undertake – but my style is to catch a glance, a smile, a look in a heartbeat. Take a look at my portfolio to see how I do this. I also do portrait photography as well as landscape and architectural photography, working across the Western Cape from the West Coast to the Garden Route. In turn, I offer Matterport and other photographic services to the real estate industry. With Matterport really taking off in a time of Covid-19 – and not just for selling real estate but other indoor areas as well – take a look at this one-pager I’ve prepared to tell you more about this innovative new way to capture any venue.

Spent Sunday in Struisbaai. I have been wanting to do the video attached since I got my drone. Enjoy....The picture attached shows just after she run aground.

The Meisho Maru No 38 was a small Japanese fishing vessel that ran aground in the stormy waters around L'Agulhas on 16 November 1982. The accident occurred close to shore and the crew of 17 all managed to swim to safety. After surviving seas that at times can produce swells of up to 30 meters, the ship finally broke apart a few years ago.
