How Are Needletime Rights Allocated To Recording Artists?

The percentage of royalties to a recording artist is dependent on the role the recording artists plays in the sound recording.
Recording artists on recorded performances are divided into three categories: Featured Performer, Non-Featured Performer, and Other Featured Performer:

A featured Performer is a person in whose name the track or album was recorded under. This definition also includes members of a band who were present and participated in the making of the track or album.

A Non-Featured Performer is an artist who was present and participated in the making of a track or an album for a fixed period or what is normally called in the industry as a session. Backing vocalists, instrumentalists & studio producers would fall under this definition.

Other Featured Performer is a guest recording artist who was featured by the Featured Performer in a track.

NB: Artists should notify of recorded performances in which they participate.
