Saying Goodbye To Lilly 💔

Last week Sunday, I had the privilege of photographing beautiful Lilly, Lella and her family’s beloved English bullmastiff, as the family prepared to say their goodbyes.

Lilly had only recently been diagnosed with aggressive bone cancer, and was in quite a bit of pain, so we took things slowly in the comfort of her home, surrounded by love and her favourite people 💚

I just knew that I had to send a few preview images and so I sent them to Lella that same evening, and the very next day, Lella let me know that Lilly crossed the rainbow bridge💔My heart aches for her family, and I’m so grateful I could capture these moments for them, a small comfort when just words are never enough.

This is a tender reminder to take the photos, to cherish the time we’re given. Life is fleeting, but love, and the memories we create, will always remain.

This is Lilly’s story that Lella so kindly shared with me, written by her Mom❤️

“Today we said goodbye to our precious Lilly. We picked her out of a litter of 13. She was born in Bloemfontein. We met half way and fetched her in kroonstad and we immediately knew she was family. We changed her barking from Afrikaans to English with a slight kugel accent but most of all she lived the life of a princess.

My princess who was my shadow my best friend wiping away my tears with all her sloppy kisses. Looking at Lilly one thought she was a huge dangerous dog but nothing like that, she was super gentle kind and loving.

Rest peacefully my Lillian my Gilly my Lilly Ann no more suffering for you. You are forever etched in my heart. Until we meet again I just adore you ❤️❤️ Thank you for your unconditional love” ❤️

🌟 Celebrating 10 Years of Love and Memories with Letitia & Renier 🌟

I’m feeling all kinds of sentimental as I look back on the incredible journey I’ve had with my fabulous clients, Letitia and Renier. A little over 11 years ago, I met these two for their first-ever photo shoot together—a gorgeous couples session at the Jack Taylor Airfield in Krugersdorp. It was a stunning mix of vintage meets contemporary, and from that moment, I knew we had something special.

Over the years, they’ve become more than clients—they’re my favorite people to photograph and a true example of how beautiful a client-photographer relationship can be when it’s built on trust, connection, and creativity.

I’ve been lucky enough to capture so many milestones in their journey:

✨ Their magical wedding in Clarens, a celebration full of love and joy.
✨ Letitia’s Marilyn Monroe-inspired bo***ir shoot—an absolute vision of elegance and empowerment.
✨ Another couples shoot a few years later, still radiating the same spark.
✨ Little André’s newborn session, followed by his christening during the challenging days of COVID.
✨ Letitia’s glowing maternity shoot as they awaited the arrival of Lika.
✨ And of course, Lika’s newborn shoot and her christening, both filled with love and family warmth.

And now, here we are, celebrating 10 years of love and partnership with their anniversary shoot. I can’t put into words how much it means to me to have been part of so many chapters of their story.

Letitia and Renier, thank you for trusting me with your memories and for letting me witness your journey. Your support over the years has meant the world to me, and it’s been an absolute honor to capture your lives, your love, and your growing family. ✨
