This past Thursday was a real treat while making our way back from Cape Town along the R62 we intercepted the Cold Front of the decade!

Sub Artic temperatures have resulted in one of the biggest snow falls in recent times, the white stuff was present on the highlands from Worcester until just past Joubertina!

Our original plan was to overnight in either Uniondale or Graaff-Reinet to do more adventuring but unfortunately the N9 was closed due to the inclement weather.

was ever so happy to allow me to make random photo stops along the way.

The first scene was captured just outside Jourbertina looking towards Uniondale and the second earlier in the day between Barrydale and Ladysmith.

I just love the contrast of the Karoo landscape.

My favourite time of the year.

The soft glow of the winter sun, the golden veld and the pastel skies at sunset...

And of course winter lambs!

Went for a midday stroll on Monday.

Captured this 4 Image Pano on my X-T2 with a 50-140mm, NISI Landscape CP-L.

Eastern Cape winter skies never disappoint, a massive cold front was moving in along the coast with a build-up of Cumulus clouds along the interior at the foot of the Amathole Mountains.

This scene reminds me of a page from my Grade 10 Geography Textbook could always catch me daydreaming about moments like this in the back of Mr Kings Class!

The sunset this evening was a real stunner, my subject for the evening a lonely wattle tree!

This image is testament to waiting it out, sometimes the elements come together when you least expect it!

Loving these lockdown skies!

Hi All

I hope everyone is alive and well as we head into the third week of lockdown?

I have been fortunate enough to have locked down out in the countryside, the ability to have the freedom of movement that I can go out and stretch my legs or pick up my camera and explore the farm for photographic opportunities has been an absolute blessing for both my mental and physical wellbeing.

While most of you might be dreading the 2-week lockdown extension and spending the time in the safety of your properties pondering the future of our Society. The stark reality of the situation is that our city faced a massive social crisis before this pandemic reached our shores, 100’s of homeless people still find themselves on the streets of East London as many of the temporary shelters are at capacity. These are our most vulnerable citizens!

I was fortunate to meet Brian from Clean Slate last year when he spent time documenting and living on the streets of East London in an attempt to raise funds for a permanent homeless centre/shelter within the Buffalo City area. I was shocked that our city did not have a social wellness programme in place for its homeless residents. I have kept a keen eye on the amazing work that this NGO has been doing on the streets of East London.

In the weeks since the start of our the National State of Emergency and forced lockdown. Brian and his team of volunteers have been hard at work making sure that the homeless are being fed and cared for, that basic sanitation and health needs have been maintained and that two of their homeless clients received dignified burials and funerals (Not COVID-19 related).

I have decided to make four of my land/seascape images available as two desktop and two mobile backgrounds anyone wanting to donate to Clean Slate can make a deposit of R50 into their account. WhatsApp me the Proof of Payment (0835749134) and I will send a link for you to download the set of wallpapers.

a 7 Shot Panoramic from tonight's sunset.

X-T2 with 50-140mm f2.8 & NISI Landscape CP-L + NISI 0.3 Soft Grad.

Been blessed to be out on the farm at the foothills to the Amathole Mountain Range for lockdown, especially this time of the year as the Eastern Cape Autumns are notorious for producing spectacular light in the late afternoon.

It has been ages since I've attempted a panoramic scape.

Dusting off my ninja editing skills🤣

Enjoy 📸

Tonight's sunset was simply spectacular!

The light rainfall made for some interesting layers as the contrasts shifted with the elements.

Welcome playtime after a challenging week mentally, a lot of uncertainty but one thing is always guaranteed and that it that, light will always be primary!
