Why I created The Art of Becoming Seen.
In September 2024, my life changed.
I had a kidney removed amongst other losses and gains.
Suddenly, so much of what I knew — my role, my body, my family, my sense of who I was — felt different.
And I found myself asking a question I think many of us eventually ask:
Who am I now?
I’ve realised that becoming isn’t always about becoming someone new.
Sometimes it’s about finding the person who got lost somewhere along the way.
The woman underneath the roles.
The woman underneath the expectations.
The woman who is still there, even when life looks completely different.
That’s where The Art of Becoming Seen began.
I want to create a space where people can pause.
To talk.
To reflect.
To tell their story.
To be photographed not just for how they look, but for who they are becoming.
And perhaps, through being truly seen by someone else, we begin to see ourselves differently too.
I’m starting with three women.
Three stories.
Three opportunities to explore what it means to be seen.
And this is only the beginning.
Because your story doesn’t end when your life changes.
Sometimes, that’s where the next chapter begins, also knowing, I am not just a photographer, or just a therapist. I am whatever I choose to be. ❤️
