I've ALWAYS been a lover of the weird, & the sexy; the unapologetic sense of self & authenticity that that brings. It's the most gorgeous thing you can be, your self, wholeheartedly!
I've also ALWAYS been a Frankie fan; my obsession with the Rocky Horror Picture Show started young, too young in fact. The fearlessness of being a misfit, of being wild, feral & okay with it; it was daring and raunchy during a time of narrow mindedness. The extravagance of it all made me fall in love with it, but more so, I fell in love with Tim Curry and his natural portrayal of Frank n Furter. That role could never be played by anyone else, not ever. It was his destiny.
I had 2 people message me immediately upon them hearing the news of his earthly departure, I had just arrived home. I felt like I had lost a family member. It was surreal! He felt like forever!
I adored him, he was ridiculously talented and made for every role he ever played, but RHPS changed me. It shaped me, made me at ease in my skin, made me feel comfortable being the raging weirdo that I am.
Tim Curry influenced alot of my earliest work; before money was needed, I was a conceptual artist (I promise I'm healed now🤣💋).
Anyway, this is my little tribute to a larger than life icon. Someone who made the misfits, Renegades, rebels, black sheep feel safe. Someone who gave the nod of approval to the weird & wonderful. Someone who made strange look appealing. Thank you Sir!
I hope your energy doesn't rest in peace just yet, I hope it swirls around the world, reviving creativity, authenticity and a little healthy rebellion. You will be missed unfathomably!
